Icon Brickell Spa — Local services in Miami

I visit Miami recently and I enjoy me a good spa but this just ain’t it. They have so many rules because they have residents there so you can’t do anything. For such a beautiful spa you can’t even take pictures. The airbnb host don’t communicate ANYTHING! I was also very concerned with a staff working there. She was pregnant and cleaning the gym but they had gentlemen staff that can do that. I also say her faint or I don’t know what happen that day and she still shows up… why aren’t they figuring out something for her??? That’s a lawsuit in my opinion… Everyone looks unhappy there. You could tell that there’s something going on… They had a real bad accident recently and they didn’t let anyone know what was going on at least for our safety. This place is very questionable. All departments suck! They have third parties or whatever running the departments. No one is staffed per the Icon themselves. They hire third party companies to run the pool, spa, housekeeping, management, security, etc. Nothing in the building makes sense. You will also get lost because certain entry areas are closed and they make you go in a circle and through a garage and blah blah blah. I won’t ever be staying here again and I will definitely be reaching out to someone to get the word out about this location overall. WORST PLACE...

I brought my mom and her sisters to the W for her 60th birthday and rented out a 2 bedroom condo with a great view. We were having such a great time until we went to the spa. Initially; we had a warm welcome. We sat in the hot tub’s and chatted. We then wanted to take advantage of the sauna. There were two girls in there. A really nice white girl who made space for use and a Hispanic girl who refused to move and took up an entire bench for herself. So my aunt and myself shared the top bench with the white girl and my mom and other aunt took the bottom bench. The top bench broke leaving two available benches. So my aunt and I left leaving my mom and my other aunt in the sauna. (Mom stayed because the sauna helps with her lower extremity edema). All of a sudden a Spanish girl (I think her name was Ayenna or something) from the front desk comes and kicks my mom out stating that the sauna is unsafe… but says something to the Spanish girl in Spanish (allowing her to stay)… the discrimination…. I’m so disappointed as my family traveled all the way from South Africa to be treated this way… I have noooo words…. And the fact that we’re spending $1000 a night to be here…. I’m so annoyed and disappointed....

I have lived in the Icon Brickell on and off since 2009 for one decade and I have seen amazing and positive transformation of the Icon Brickell Spa since Ms. Movita Sanchez has become the new Spa Director. She has improved the team, ambiance, atmosphere and overall attitude of the staff since she's taken office. I have seen and experience so much positive transformation of the facility, the physical fitness class schedule and most importantly the overall guest experience. To further that, I wanted to give a special shout out to my dear friend, trainer, motivational coach and inspiration, Mr. Johnny Rhodes and congratulate him as his new role as Fitness Manager. He is absolutely phenomenal. I have known John for over a decade know and first met him during my UM days when he was my first trainer. As I began my journey of personal fitness I started to take John's PHIT Workout, which is offered on the Icon Brickell Spa Class schedule, and it totally transformed my body and mind. The PHIT Workout will literally transform your body to a lean, mean, badass machine. I highly suggest all Icon residents to take part in the PHIT work out as John will help get your mind and body right! God...
