I hate writing negative reviews but I feel like itâs needed because of the amount my husband spent on me, him and my 5 year old daughter. First off, we didnât have a reservation. It was nice the manager could find us a seat and he was pretty friendly. We were unfortunately seated right next to the waiters desk/kiosk thing. First off, the restaurant is kind of small. The tables are so incredibly close together to each other, The whole thing was just uncomfortable. Then we meet our waiter. No hello, how are you doing, no smiling. He looked very pissed to be there. Also, this is not a restaurant to bring children. There is no food to cater to children at this place. Not even juice. We got our two VERY small glasses of wine, and Iâm not even talking about half filled it was like, a quarter of the small glass filled. We ordered our food then never saw the waiter again for another hour. He just completely vanished. Never got a refill on our drinks or anything. We actually had to ask another waiter for my daughterâs drink because he forgot it. And when they brought it out, it was lemonade and tasted so bad⌠it almost look like an alcoholic beverage. I had to doublecheck and drink it to make sure it wasnât. It was literally lemon water. No flavor.
Now for the food: the food was absolutely awful. I donât even know how to describe it. As a native Italian, I am extremely disappointed.. I was raised by Sicilian and southern Italians, so my pallet for Italian food is extremely strong. My daughter received the spaghetti which was cooked al dente, the spaghetti sauce was flavorless. Barely any salt, barely any seasoning. I received the gnocchi, same thing. Barely any flavor, barely any seasoning. They never came and asked for parmesan Reggiano Or Parmesan cheese on top of our dishes. My gnocchi was so mushy and almost overcooked. It was awful. The kind you cook from the package at the store taste better then this. My husband ordered the veal, which again-tasteless. And basically still walking on the plate.. I thought it was still alive with how much blood there was! His mashed potatoes, AGAIN- no flavor. No salt. No pepper. No seasoning. Once we stopped eating, the waiter FINALLY comes back around to our presence and asks for desert. We were so thirsty and frustrated at this point and we would have ordered more wine but we never saw him come by or acknowledge us. At one point, my husband had to say âexcuse me, sirâ Like three times and he just walked right by when my daughter needed her tasteless flavorless lemonade. That was when we didnât see him for an hour after that. He finally comes back and ask us for dessert. We decline. He seemed so rude and just irritated. Then he walks away.. Now we are sitting there like statues, waiting for our bill which never comes. We waited 20 to 30 minutes for the bill.. Eventually, my daughter became restless, and I had to leave the restaurant and go for a walk with her outside. My husband said he would wait. He saw other people pay the bill at their tables so he assumed the same. He had no idea he had to go to the desk like GOLDEN CORRAL and pay it at the front. My husband finally exits the restaurant, With a frustrated look on his face I asked him whatâs wrong.. He said it was $250 total, and they taxed on the $40 extra for Gratuity. I said ahhh, It makes sense why the waiters all seem to be in a horrible mood. When Gratuity is Mandatory on the bill, they almost donât feel like they need to work for the tip. But my husband told him the waiter at the end looked like he expected extra money.. which Me and him both laughed at, Because of how terrible the service & hospitality was. We both talked over it and came to the conclusion that this was probably by far the worst restaurants weâve ever been to. Itâs sad to say this, but we received better dining at your local Corabbas. đ we were staying at the Icon residences, And had just traveled 2 hours from Port St Lucie. We were both starving so we wanted...
Read moreWith my husband we try to go to as many restaurants as we possibly can at least once a week we try to go to different places to try different kinds of food , so it was not a surprise that while my mom was in town i took the chance to celebrate her birthday at Cipriani this was our first time and we were very excited even though that we heard not really great things about this place , we decided to give it a try anyway, we arrived on time at 8pm , immediately they sat us , (i must say the tables are ridiculously small and short i felt tremendously uncomfortable and plus the lights were too bright not really the kind of place were you feel romantic or comfortable) we ordered drinks and they brought the menu just two pages not very extensive but I assumed that the food was amazing, after taking my time going through the entire menu nothing felt appealing, so decided to ask the server for suggestion so he suggested the tagliolini he said was "specialty of the house" , my husband ordered the branzino with broccoli and my mom ordered the tuna tartare salad , the brought a basket with cold bread nothing special , they didn't even had the courtesy of bringing us some butter to spread in the cold bread , the deal breaker was the food it arrived very quickly but totally disappointing to start my meal was whatever is tasted like a mac and cheese that i could make at home i never there was supposed to have a ham that i never found very disappointing meal to be the "specialty of the house" as the server described, my husband 's fish was a open fish that has no salt or flavor whatsoever and not to even mention my mom's tartare well imagine i pile of raw tuna with no flavor not even salt or pepper with a side of what appeared to be ketchup with mayonnaise, i was so embarrassed with my mom such a special dinner turned out into a nightmare then the server took forever to bring the surprise cake for my mom and we ended up ordering a gelato and after we ordered the gelato they brought the cake and also the gelato, completely unorganized cause we were supposed to have only one dessert, after the entire unpleasant meal we ordered the check and i had never been so unhappy to pay a check like i did in cipriani , food was horrendous and extremely expensive my only recommendation stay away from this place there is hundreds of other really fabulous restaurants in miami that...

I have had one of the worst experiences at this restaurant. As a frequent client of world class fine restaurants, I never came by such a rude and arrogant staff, who wouldnât allow me in for lunch, in a distinctly discriminating attitude, because I was wearing shorts (Armani) with a polo shirt (Prada) and regular tennis shoes. My wife was wearing jeans and tennis shoes. Then comes this âarrogantâ Maitre Dâhotel, who stopped us right at the bar, informing us all tables were reserved and that we could not be seated there. To our great surprise and bewilderment, the restaurant was only at 40% full. We walked out frustrated, because every trip we take to lovely Miami, we enjoy going out for dinner with family at Ciprianiâs downtown. As it was already 2:30 pm, we had no choice but to go to a nearby restaurant called - La Cantina - which was an excellent choice, serving prime Mexican food with a very friendly service. In order to satisfy our curiosity and confirm that we had just been discriminated, we randomly called for reservations at Cipriani downtown,. To our not great surprise, we were informed there were tables available for immediate check-in seating. That only confirmed their obnoxious attitude that targeted us in sheer discrimination due to our sporty, but nonetheless elegant attire. Taking into account it was lunch time and temperatures exceeding 90F, and I was wearing shorts. It was lunch time in sunny Miami and I could never expect such unfriendly and rude reception. After finishing our -top notch - lunch at La Cantina we went to retrieve our car, still parked with valet located in front of Cipriani Downtown. To our surprise a couple was leaving the restaurant also wearing shorts after having their meal. I couldnât control myself, entered the restaurant and called the manager. After detailing the entire story and naming some of my close friends who were âhabitues clientsâ at their restaurant, the manager was all apologetic and tried to buy us free drinks to make it up for the rude experience of our trip. We obviously did not accept anything, but were satisfied by making our complaint and leaving our note here for this despicable restaurant. We left Cipriani downtown to never...
