If you're looking for a warm and helpful welcome you won't get it here. After reading other peoples comments I was optimistic about moving in with the change of management reviews. Unfortunately the optimism didn't last long as I started the application process. I contacted the leasing team on 3 occasions to get a video tour and was told by Sean and a lady they would send it but did not. It was not until after I paid the app and amenity fee that Jaicie finally sent it. After that Jaicie was very communicative in answering questions but there were still issues after. It wasn't until a couple days before I was to leave NYC and come here that they told me move-in costs have to be paid via Cashiers check or money order, even though I could pay the other fees online. When you're in the middle of prepping for a move and 18 hour drive it's an added task, especially for those of us who only bank online and have daily limits on debit cards. When I arrived at the building for my scheduled move-in there was no one around. I had to wait outside for 10 minutes to run behind a resident just to get into the building. Upon entering the office was closed with instructions to call a phone number. I called the number 4 times and no answer. Eventually a maintenance man walked by and I asked him for help. He shrugged and walked away. About 10 minutes later a lady came down the elevator and ask if I was the one scheduled to move in. She gave me the key and that was it. She didn't show me the apartment to make sure it was all set, or around the building or even tell me where the amenities such as the pool and gym are. (I still don't know).I let her know I was going to grab a quick bite to eat before unload and would be back well before my reservation was over. She then called me not even an hour later and asked if I still planned on moving in, which I said yes and would be back shortly. She asked that I call her when I'm on my way. I called her 3 times on my way and no answer again. When I got back to the building I could not find anyone to help. Finally I squeeze through the loading dock gate and opened the back door only to find the maintenance man. I asked him how to open the gate and he pointed and turned back to his cell phone while I just started at him. He eventually got up and opened it. When trying to unload my SUV I asked the leasing lady for a luggage cart and she refused claiming that due to Covid-19 she wasn't allowed to let me use the cart. To me its pure laziness that they won't let residents moving in use the cart or have to sanitize it after use. To me, its no different than using a shopping cart at the grocery store. I even offered to sanitize it. After I unloaded I went down to ask about my package that was delivered with my internet modem (crucial as working from home due to Covid-19). The First Lady told me I would have received an email from the locker service and I had to tell her multiple times I wasn't registered as I moved in that day. Eventually the First Lady came back out and helped me look in the room with the deliveries. I wasn't able to find it. She said she would keep looking but 2 days later now and I still haven't heard back. I checked with UPS and it was delivered a week ago. The building has very spotty cell coverage. Overall not a great experience at all and really makes me pessimistic about being here long term. On the plus side, the other residents seem nice and there was one male employee that was helpful yesterday as I struggled with a large box from the garage to the...
Read moreHello Everyone,
Before anyone reads the below I wrote this review in hopes that someone in upper management contacts me. I left my information in the office so a manager can contact me but im sure the staff never turned in my message. Please see my below review so you too can see why moving into Broadstone Brickell was the biggest mistake I made in 2018.
I want to start by saying that I am extremely disappointed where I live and unhappy not because of the location but because of the staff. The building is great but the staff scams their residents. I have been yelled at and given attitude by the staff in the office countless times. Whenever I go in to ask for help I feel like I'm bothering them and I'm always left with the impression that they want to be left alone.
Broadstone Brickell advertises themself as a luxury apartment building but the amenities are the only thing luxurious about this building. The service/staff has disrespected me so much that I avoid them at all costs. I feel so uncomfortable going home because in order to get to my apartment I have to pass by the office. It is not right that I feel uncomfortable in a place that I currently pay $2600 to live when i could easily rent a bigger place for half the price.
STAFF SCAMS THEIR RESIDENTS
I have been living here for two months and since the day I moved in their has been a designated parking spot on the first floor for scooters. In that spot their was a tow away sign that was never enforced since Broadstone Brickell opened over 1 year ago. This is a fact because the tow truck passes by the garage every day and night and tows cars away that have been illegally parked here. I have personally seen the tow truck tow cars and NEVER touch any of the 30 - 40 scooters that were parked on the first floor months.
When I went downstairs to get on my scooter and go to work one morning I noticed all the scooters were gone. I contacted the office and asked them what happened and they said they towed all the scooters. Since the tow away sign was never enforced i asked why they did not put a new sign or print a letter and put it in all the residents mailbox informing us that they would begin to enforce that sign. The person on the phone stayed quiet.
The reason they did not take those precautions was because someone in the office received commission for all those scooters that got towed. I had just bought my scooter for $700 1 week prior and to take it out I am now being charged $450 all because the staff at Broadstone Brickell wanted some extra cash. Its not fair to me and all other residents that pay so much to live here.
EMOTIONAL/MENTAL HEALTH
I grew up an orphan with no stable home, no family, and not a dollar to my name. Everything I have I fought for and fight to keep. Because of how I grew up the two most important things to me are my peace of mind and my house. If I have a bad day I like to have the peace of mind that I can go to a problem free home. Broadstone has taken my peace of mind away, made me feel uncomfortable where I live. I have been disrespected to the point that their staff has yelled at me, called me a liar to my face, and that employee still works here(great management) I think the worse part is that their is noone in the office that cares or to talk to about these circumstances so I have to continue living here. Rest assured that i will never recommend Broadstone Brickell to anyone and will move...
Read moreUpdate as of June, 2022 Moved here in August '21 based on a walk through cell phone video and honestly felt very lucky to have landed in a nice building with no complaints. However, the last 4-5 months have dramatically changed my opinion. Residents have literally been begging for a 24/7 front desk/concierge person for months and the management responds that they see no need for one. Below you'll see the reasons why a concierge is necessary along with other building issues.
At least 6 TVs were stolen from the club room/pool area and they have not been replaced for months
During Memorial Day weekend the fire alarm was pulled on back-to-back nights. While the building can't help someone being moronic, there are no hallway cameras to help identify and catch the person so they are relying on someone to turn them in
Last night on 6/3 the fire alarms malfunctioned and went off from 2AM until after 5AM. Again, if the fire alarms malfunctioned due to the heavy rain/condensation the building may not be able to help that but at least having a point of contact in the building for residents to speak to and receive updates on the situation would be massively appreciated so we aren't sitting up for hours wondering when the alarm will stop
Motorcycles have been stolen from the parking garage multiple times along with other criminal activity. In response to the increased crime in the building, management hired a third party "security" company called Signal 88. This seems like a reasonable attempt to fix the issue, but the security company is completely unresponsive and their "patrol" is sitting in their car on the 8th floor of the parking garage blaring music. Maybe if there was someone from the building working at that time they would be able to ensure the security team was actually doing their job
-Whereas most "luxury" buildings charging $3k+/month for a one bedroom have someone at the front of the building to screen people coming in at all hours, at Miro the residents hold this responsibility on the weekends and any time after 9:30 PM. This has resulted in me taking my dog out at 7 AM to see someone sleeping in the hallway on the 22nd floor along with other residents finding people sleeping in the lobby
The elevators have completely shut down on multiple occasions leaving residents with no immediate point of contact to resolve the issue. This resulted in my 67 and 64 year old parents having to walk down 22 flights of steps while they were visiting and no ability to take my dog out without then forcing her to walk up 22 floors back to the apartment
Residents lose their key or their key fob has a malfunction after hours? Too bad, looks like you'll have to wait three hours for emergency maintenance to make their way out to let you in
Miro has some courteous and helpful staff members and they do a great job keeping the building clean, but their decision to completely ignore resident's concerns and turn it around as if it is our fault for the building's shortcomings is frustrating to say the least. 10/1/22 update - Harbor management took over in July and were abysmal from day one. I decided to leave for a new building and Harbor is trying to keep my security deposit plus charge an additional $400 for a painting fee and cracked tile when the tile was cracked when we moved in and cited on our move in sheet. You couldn’t pay me to live in a building managed by...
