Five Guys — Restaurant in Michigan City

For some reason this one is located on the backside of a strip mall. Doesn't matter though because this is a place that you seek out when you want it. I write this for all Five Guys when I say that this place is good. The only franchise I know that can rival In and Out from the west. The patties always taste fresh, the bread is never stale and the toppings are crisp and ripe. The key difference is that it tastes more "classic" than In and Out because they don't have a house special sauce. The only condiments are the classic backyard grill condiments. The other big kicker that this place has over In and out and other fast food burger places are the fries. So good and served in mass quantities. Do not ask for a large unless you are with an entire family. Regular is a lot for one person. Delicious American food...

You can't go wrong with any of their burgers, and the fact that they offer "little" options of their burgers makes it much easier to find something that fills you up with no leftovers, no matter how hungry you may be. Aside from burgers they also have sandwiches and hot dogs. Personally I haven't tried their hotdogs so I can't say anything about those, but their BLT and grilled cheese sandwiches were on par with the quality of their burgers. One thing to note however is that the BLT is on a burger bun and not sliced bread. Their fries are also delectable and you can even taste the real potatoes and peanut oil that they were fried in. Five Guys makes the small wait worthwhile. Hamburgers are quality meat with a terrific choice of toppings. Single or double patties all depends on how hungry you are. Don't even think about not having fries! Hand cut and cooked to perfection. I love that the cup is full of fries and then they put some more in the bag. I also love the hotdogs. Nice sized with a the same choice of toppings. Great addition is the choices of drinks. Sugar, no sugar and maybe a choice of other drinks you concocted on your own.
