Let me tell you about Michael's craft store, a place where your Pinterest dreams come to life, and your wallet goes to die (but, like, in the BEST way possible). Walking into Michael’s is like stepping into Narnia—except instead of magical talking animals, it’s an endless forest of glitter, fake flowers, and the seductive promise of "You can totally DIY that!" Spoiler alert: you can’t. But it’s adorable that you believe in yourself.
Michael’s is my husband’s worst nightmare. I told him we just needed to grab one skein of yarn for a “quick project,” and 3.5 hours later, he’s carrying six bags to the car and questioning all his life choices. Meanwhile, I’m on cloud nine because who wouldn’t need a scrapbook kit, 87 Sharpies, and a 12-foot skeleton on sale?! It’s called being prepared, Mike. Look it up.
The employees here are saints. Absolute angels. I’ve seen them help an overwhelmed mom create a science fair volcano and guide a clueless dad to the perfect glitter glue like they were Moses parting the Red Sea. They never judge your 47 returns of failed craft projects, and they always smile like they genuinely believe you’re capable of hand-painting that entire wedding backdrop. It’s adorable, really.
And the sales? Oh, honey, if I’m not leaving with at least three things I didn’t know I needed but suddenly can’t live without, is it even Michael’s? Last week, I got a wreath-making kit, a gallon of Mod Podge, and some yarn that might one day become a scarf. (Spoiler: it won’t.)
The moral of the story is Michael’s isn’t just a store; it’s a lifestyle. It’s a therapy session, a marriage test, and a caffeine-fueled adventure all rolled into one. Highly recommend if you like glue in your hair, paint on your jeans, and your husband sighing in the corner while you debate between two shades of pink ribbon. 10/10, would ruin my husbands...
Read moreI arrived to pick up an online order (store delivery) 2 days before Christmas to be told 1/3 items had been separated from my order and SOLD! Additionally, they were now sold out of that item. While I appreciate that the manager on duty was super friendly and highly apologetic, it was my promoting him to search that we discovered the Langhorne Store (KOP) had it in stock. I drove 45 minutes (to another state) to be told by THAT manager that I had to pay for the item again and get reimbursed!!! Can u imagine this, just 2 days before Christmas? I asked that manager to hold it for me and I would be back tomorrow after speaking to their corporate office. Do you believe he had the audacity to tell me he could not guarantee it would be there (despite having 11 in his inventory). The next day I managed to get the corporate office to refund me the cost if the item and not require me to pay for it at all given my inconvenience. BUT I will never shop here again. Terrible service and...
Read moreOur daughter is getting married. I wanted to create a special gift to her and her husband. I found some Chinese wedding candy bags to make an artwork. I also have 4 dried vintage plants artwork and needed to be framed. I went to Michaels at Oxford Vally. I met Dominic at the frame department. I found this floating frame and discussed with him. Dominic is very knowledgeable and technical, explained how I should frame these artworks to enhance their beauty but preserve them well. He also offered great suggestions; therefore, I purchased frames at the store and paid the framing cost to put the artworks into the frames. Unfortunately, the framing work completed first time for these artworks had some issues, Dominic had to re-work on them! We love the final framing work results! We appreciate Dominic great customer service and technical expertise and ensure our satisfaction! I also want to thank Haily for her great help and many...
