Only dine here IF YOU LIKE EATING CHUNKS OF PLASTIC!!! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT! As if it wasn’t bad enough for them to mess up my smoothie bowl in the first place, (I did NOT get what I ordered) people make mistakes I’m not gonna make a huge deal about that. But what I wound up eating was an açaí coco haze smoothie bowl. Complete with purple plastic for my dining pleasure. I was appalled - PLASTIC IN MY FOOD! I ATE SOME (thinking it was chocolate chunks not realizing until I spit a portion out! It had been covered by acai smoothie and I didn’t see it mixed in with the granola and chocolate). So I went to smoothie king to investigate and politely asked for a manager to discuss the situation. Mistakes happen, right? There was no manager on duty, so the SINGLE person on staff gave me the manager’s phone number. The manager’s name is Amanda. Well you wouldn’t believe the customer service I got from her! On the phone, I explained my situation. She said “oh that’s no big deal, the açaí comes in a container with purple plastic that’s where it came from”. My eating plastic is no big deal? Uhm, really? I was taken back by her attitude for sure. She was willing to refund one smoothie bowl out of my order of two (apparently we were supposed to eat the other bowl not knowing where the plastic came from???). I had to hold my ground to get the refund on both, and they refused to make me new bowls (without açaí, which is actually what I ordered in the first place - I wanted pitaya but a family member brought the bowls home and didn’t know it was a mistake, so I ate it anyway). Terrible, terrible customer service. Amanda (the manager) also blamed me for the new employee’s inexperience and said that’s why I got a messed up order. She claimed my daughter ordered it wrong. I was FaceTiming her at the time, she did not “order it wrong”. THE MANAGER. BLAMED ME. This is honestly some of the worse customer service I’ve ever seen. I just hope I don’t wind up with a tear in my intestines from eating plastic! I’m not mentioning the name of the employee who helped me in the store because I felt bad for her and the situation. She clearly wanted to help and provide good customer service - but couldn’t override her manager’s instructions. So long story short, don’t get anything with açaí if you still want to try their food after reading my review!
Edit to follow up! Smoothie king’s customer service sent me an email in response to my review. It said “thank you for contacting smoothie king. We have sent your concerns to the store manager and they will be in contact with you”. Guess what. I replied to the email and said I already spoke to the manager. Read moreExtremely negative energy in the store, sloppy location, foul language, and not friendly customer service. Situation could have been prevented with better training of staff. Tried to pay with a $50 bill - which I was unaware of the small sign (that was peeling off the lower counter) out of the cashier/customer view, unless looking off to the side and directly down to notice prior to ordering. Cashier took my $50 with no problem, no comment, and nothing in regards to the larger bill sign that I later would find to be an issue. As he was trying to get my change by questioning the only other girl employee who was making the smoothies, she jumped in and gave me attitude about using the $50. I would have had no problem giving smaller bills if I was told when that $50 left my hand and was placed into the cashiers hand. I felt bad for the cashier because he clearly was stressed and was innocently asking for help. From my perspective, she didn’t really want to help him by her mannerisms but of course she was forced because she was the only other employee. The cashier said “f*” loud and clear because of this silly situation he did not know how to handle (not necessary). Im trying to understand that she may have felt busy with two orders or maybe she was having a bad day or truly just does not have what it takes to be NICE!
Needless to say, I left with my money and no smoothies. The way she tried to talk down to me because of their lack of training of employees and to say that he (cashier) is fine when I was trying to comment how the situation could have been handled. I completely understand and sympathize with hiring younger people but please learn to train them effectively in all types of situations OR better yet don’t make them feel stupid and uncomfortable for trying to do the right thing.

Read moreSo I’ve gone to many smoothie establishments before… BUT WOW, never before have I been brought to literal tears by the absolutely phenomenal service… I mean IMPECCABLE service. When I first walked in, I was greeted by three large men standing in a triangle formation holding hands and crying, I initially asked what they were crying about, but one of the brothers quickly affirmed to me, these were no ordinary tears, these were tears of awestruck wonder because never before had they been treated in such a majestic manner, nor have they ever tasted what one of them could only describe as “a fruity ice cup from the prophet Mohammed himself.” I grew immensely skeptical, it was right then I was greeted by this charming, scrumptious-looking young man named Anthony. Wow was he polite. As he took my order, I began to get emotionally overwhelmed as his gaze met mine and the fact that he paid more attention to detail than even the police conducting my 2nd degree homicide investigation. (And they are extremely thorough) less than 2.45 minutes later, I was gifted with beverage which honestly looked pretty lackluster… but when I took my first sip, I IMMEDIATELY felt like having an epileptic seizure. I mean it was literally that good. My eyes rolled back and I collapsed on the floor as waves of euphoria coursed through my ever-unprepared body as if I had just been reborn into the holy kingdom. From the moment he asked “what can I blend for you today” to the moment he handed me my cup of holy fluids, I knew anthony was quite literally the song of God.
