DO NOT WASTE your money in purchasing a WARRANTY on your laptop with the Manager in charge right now. He is rude and arrogant and very unprofessional. The young man at the counter took my laptop removed the felt piece I had on the keys ... and took in back several times. I purchased laptop because it had 8 plus hours use time. It now has about 4 hours. Which means the battery needs replacing. He said HP would not replace battery because it is working. He sarcastically said I can send it buy you will be without it for 10 plus days and it will come back the same. My prior last laptop had the same issue was 4 hours and lasting 2 and HP and my warranty from Best Buy covered it. I had 4 keys that have worn off and he said they would NOT cover as it was cosmetic. However, my prior laptop had the same issue and when they replaced the battery they replaced the keys. Of course the Geek Squad at that time was so really nice and helpful.. hence why I came back for the second laptop. I was and am still extremely frustrated and Manager called me rude well after being scammed to buy a warranty for 399.00 and a laptop for 1400.00 and now to not cover anything. Yes, I then frustration rude...and to top it all off the young man kept going from front to back with lap top they lost the felt piece for the keys and claimed I never brought it in with me. THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN CUSTOMERS SERVICE EVER.... DISGUSTING TREATMENT.... DISAPPOINTING WASTE of TIME and MONEY. THIS IS NOT RIGHT. Why did HP replace battery and keys on prior laptop ??? And if this is what Best Buy/Geek Squad hires for Managers his appearance was not professional and his treatment and facial expressions were deplorable. BUYER BEWARE... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY or YOUR TIME. WARRANTIES MEAN NOTHING. SPEND LESS BUY ELSEWHERE.... I was told if I dropped the laptop it would then be covered. Maybe I should have dropped it right then and there to gotten it replaced. ........now that would have been...
Read moreAs someone who has never left a review before, my experience with the millbury geek squad was so terrible that it forced me to write one to hopefully save someone else from a wasted day. I had a problem with my steam deck this morning and called geek squad to see if they could help. I was assured multiple times by the person on the phone that they would be able to do at least a diagnostic assessment to see what the issue may be. I was then called by a worker (I think his name was Gabe) to talk about the problem, he again assured me that they could do a diagnostic assessment and urged me to get there before 6, when the service techs leave so they may have a chance at fixing it today if the problem was minor. After canceling numerous meetings and dinner plans to rush over to the store, I was then told that they would not even look at the steam deck, essentially wasting my entire evening. Do not waste your time here. Just save yourself a step and find a third party repair...
Read moreConvinced me to sign up for the Total Tech subscription (which is like $200/year so it ain't cheap) just to tell me I wouldn't be able to pick up my laptop for 3 days. Granted, I could've done my due diligence to see how long reinstalling Windows 11 would take after a factory reset but they also could've had the decency to tell me it would take that long BEFORE signing me up for the program.
The dude who helped me also was super snarky about it when I told him I had changed my mind and said I didn't have time to wait that long since I work from home I essentially live on the damn thing. Thankfully I figured it out on my own without them but I still had to go through the hassle of cancelling the subscription after the fact.
They're just such a huge headache. If you need service, I'd recommend going...
