For May 9th to be Kiss Lounge and Rooftop's first night open after closing down the old Ties Longue and Rooftop (y'all really didn't think about rebranding because everything is the same), I will say that their first night was underwhelming and quiet upsetting. Here were my two main issues with Kiss last night:
First of all, I don't mind paying a cover charge for a club, but for a lounge and rooftop is kind of ridiculous especially when it's $20.00 + $4.65 (processing fee) if you use your card. I find this part to be dishonest because no where in the front is it explained that you'll be charged an additional fee for using your card. I'd love to speak with management about this because I want my money back based on principal. Next time, have something outside that say's this so people do not feel scammed because if I ever do come here again, you can for sure bet that I will have cash.
Second, the DJ they had was horrible. I did not pay $25.00 to simply hear a DJ play music off of his Spotify playlist. The man they had did not mix the music at all! He literally played the entire song until the almost end of it. Additionally, he played the same artists music the entire night. I do not care to hear SexxyRedd my entire night outside. Kiss needs to find an actual DJ that knows what he's doing because they make or break the nighttime environment.
Kiss needs to invest in a better Social Media Manager because the marketing for the re-opening of their establishment has by far been lackluster. Obviously, many people have issue with this establishment being in this area due to the violence from people who cannot be adults, but I think Kiss can actually make something for themselves if they tried re-thinking their social media strategy. Many people like myself are looking for a rooftop this summer and it would be nice to kick it here.
Outside of my two main issues, the food is actually pretty good for it being...
Read moreWe went for the night life (after 10pm) for my husband's birthday. We were looking for a nice chill spot that wasn't so much a club, but played good music and had good vibes. This place was perfect. The vibes were just what we were looking for and the music was what made me know this is the new spot where I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves old school hip hop mixed with some new school. When i say old school I mean 2000's Had our group dancing all night. The best part was that the dj actually let the songs play more than 30 seconds before switching it up. If you are not into old school hip hop this place is not for you. Love that there is no dress code so you can be as comfortable as you want or as dressy as you want as well. We did bottle service and the only thing I would say about that is that the booths are kind of small for a VIP booth, but I get it's normally a restaurant and not a lot of people in our group sat much anyways. We will be back to try the food and rooftop...
Read moreIf u go here make sure u take your receipt because they took their own tip from my card. Over $10 for one transaction for drinks. I gave my friend my card to buy us drinks n I went to the bathroom once I came out she already got our drinks I asked her how much she tip she said she forgot to tip so I left it at that cause we got the bartender next time we order drinks. Today my purchase updated from $39 to exactly $50. I used to be a waitress so i know how it is but its not about the tip its the principal of taking someones money. It's not ok to tip yourself however much u want let alone tip yourself from someone's card! Imagine how many ppl they done this to. I've never taken anyone's money because they didn't tip me....
