Review upgraded and edited to add:
I am incredibly impressed with the responsiveness of Experience Twin Cities after hearing about our tour experience. They reached out right away and were incredibly accommodating and gracious and worked with us to honor our wishes and "make it right."
I felt like they really heard what we had to say and cared about ultimately providing us with a positive experience. Thank you, Rebecca and Experience Twin Cities for turning this around.
Original Review:
During signup, I made the mistake of responding to a question about dietary preferences. I stated: " No food restrictions. (We do try to avoid animal products but don't have any expectations that this experience will be vegan friendly)."
In an email response from a company representative I was told that they had noted to "avoid animal products" but she said it would be very difficult. My response was: "No worries about the animal products," reiterating that we could just eat the regular food.
Apparently, this translated into a note about us being "vegetarian" (not accurate) that was passed along to the tour guide and she brought it up with us before the tour began, stating that she just had to call her boss who would then notify the restaurants that there were "two vegetarians in the group." That it would be easy and seamless at the locations because it would be setup in advance.
At that point we (again) stated our preference to just eat the regular food. Since they couldn't guarantee VEGAN options, only vegetarian, we wanted to eat the regular menu.
To be clear - we weren't looking for "special treatment." We weren't looking for them to provide us a vegan option. We DID need them to listen to our stated preference at the beginning and honor our decision, or to ASK if they...
Read moreGreat place to meet to begin and end the tour at the Rock Bottom Brewery. Our guide, Steve, was fantastic. He knew so much about the city and the history of Minneapolis. I learned quite a bit as we rode around in our open air bus. Steve also made sure that he spent time with all of the couples who went on the tour. He made the tour fun.
I bought the tour as a birthday present for my husband. The tour wasn't quite what I expected. I thought we would have craft beer tastings on the boat ride and then tour and sample beers at the two breweries. Instead, we had chips to buy one beer on the boat and then chips to buy a beer at two different breweries but no tour of the facilities. I was a little disappointed in that. My husband felt a little rushed to finish his beer and get back on the bus at both breweries. We plan on taking the food tour...
Read moreWe had a good time on our 3-hr. brew tour for a bachelorette! The bus was clean and on-time, and the staff (driver and tour guides) were friendly and easy to travel with. I would recommend this experience to others and would do it again myself. The only change I would make next time is to book a self-guided tour. Our guides were really pleasant, but I wouldn't describe the role as a "tour guide" persay since there wasn't content presented (e.g., wasn't pointing things out along the way, giving fun facts, taking us behind the scenes to see how X is done/made, etc.). Since tables aren't reserved ahead of time on our behalf, the guides kept things moving and on time, but an organized group could conceivably play that part themselves and the role of the guide is...
