Tucked away inside the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, Prairie Kitchen & Bar offers a delightful surprise. While hotel restaurants sometimes get a bad rap, Prairie Kitchen shatters those expectations. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor, as the name suggests, incorporates natural elements, creating a comfortable yet sophisticated space.
But let's get to the good stuff: the food! The menu features New American cuisine with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients. While I didn't delve into the entire menu, the flatbread absolutely stole the show. The crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful, providing the ideal base for a symphony of toppings. Here's where my experience gets personal. Be sure to ask about the specific flatbreads on offer – they change seasonally based on what's fresh and delicious.
However, the praise doesn't stop at the food. The service at Prairie Kitchen & Bar was exceptional. My server was attentive without being overbearing, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring my dining experience was top-notch. They were knowledgeable about the menu and clearly passionate about the restaurant, which added another layer of enjoyment to the meal.
Overall, Prairie Kitchen & Bar is a hidden gem within the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency. The food is delicious, with a special shoutout to the amazing flatbreads, and the service is friendly and professional. Whether you're a guest at the hotel or a local looking for a great meal, Prairie Kitchen & Bar is definitely...
Read moreThe atmosphere was fantastic—open, inviting, and quiet, even with the hotel lobby right next to the restaurant. Unfortunately, the hostess didn’t seem very engaged this morning; she didn’t smile or interact with us beyond confirming the size of our party. Two of us opted for the buffet ($24 per person), and one ordered from the menu. The buffet was quite disappointing. There were no labels on anything, making it difficult to find what we wanted. For hot items, there were eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links, bacon, and waffles, but when we arrived around 9:30 (with the buffet open until 11:00), there were only a few eggs, no hashbrowns, no bacon, a few sausage links, and a couple of waffles. Eventually, they did bring out more hashbrowns, but they were soggy. The pastries and breads were also sparse—a small display of bread and muffins, with bagels and croissants completely gone. Juice and coffee were included, though the juice options were unlabeled and we couldn’t locate the coffee. When I asked the hostess if more food would be coming out, her response was simply, “they should be bringing it out soon.” Overall, I’d recommend skipping the buffet if you’re considering it—it’s not...

My dish was hardly what it said in the menu.. after it was explained to me.. I was disappointed cause that wasn't what i thought it would have been by reading the menu.. my other two party members enjoyed their steak dinners.. but like i said it took WAAAYYY too long to get us our food.. Found out later by staff that the meals my sibling and i had were actually no longer going to be on the menu the next day.. kinda makes me wonder why now after we made the complaints.. lol.. I also had an item that kinda tasted as though it had been frozen.. you know that frozen for slightly too long taste? that taste.. it was quite faint but i could still taste it.. was kinda off putting.. really i cant recommend anyone eat here unless of course they got no where else they can go and are willing to also wait almost an hour from the time you sit to the time you eat.. I gave it two stars cause .. if your desperate.. they do have edible items on the menu... and the wait staff seems to be...
