Recommend avoiding this location if you can. Came by at the end of May to have a missing diamond replaced on my wife’s wedding band. Should have been an easy process because we have the lifetime diamond protection plan. The last time we were in the store before this incident was in February when we were looking at some Valentine’s Day deals. The associate told us that the rings had not been inspected for over 7 months despite us doing just that about three months prior in Feb. When brought to their attention they told us that they did not have a record of us being there earlier and the rings were no longer covered on the protection plan due to this. Then they attempted to charge us roughly a quarter of the value of the entire ring to replace 1 of the 19 diamonds. The entire ordeal felt like some sort of scheme and the employees were acting rudely to add to it. After we refused that overpriced service we had our rings inspected and ensured this time they remembered to recorded it in their system to reactivate the protection plan. Throughout this entire exchange the employees were rude, condescending, and unwilling to see any reason. A different Kay’s nearby was happy to resolve the entire issue for less than a third of the price the Destin Kay wanted and after they did an inspection of their own they discovered that many of the diamonds on both of my wife’s rings were also loose and needed tending to as well. Despite being inspected an hour prior at Destin. It’s a miracle we didn’t lose more due to the negligence at Destin. Don’t go to this location unless you want incompetence and disrespect sold to you at a premium price. There are other options nearby, go there for great customer service...
Read moreMy husband and I walked in to get some information on our warranty. His wedding band lost color and we were curious to see what can be done. An employee who helped us told us what can be done and how it was covered under the warranty. She then proceed to inform us that our warranty was lifetime. Without even asking if we wanted to leave it, she did the paperwork and informed us on when it'll be ready for pick up. Yes we didn't have to leave it, but we figured might as well. A week went by and I get a phone call that the work cannot be done on the ring. Fine. My husband went to go pick it up and upon doing so they tell him his alternative, but that his warranty has expired. Bringing up what the previous employee told us, their excuse was how she was new and didn't know. Well, TRAIN your dang employees!!!!! She had the ipad with our information and also got help from another employee, yet still gave us wrong information. NEVER going again and I recommend you to speak to a manager before taking any employee's word. WORST...
Read moreMy husband went into the Destin Commons Kay Jewelers to return a gift and have my diamond inspected for insurance requirements as we do every 6 months.. the same woman has waited on him every time and ALWAYS gives him an attitude. We have spent a lot of money in this store and they have lost our business.. He has told me how horrible they have treated him and I’m so upset over it since we have shopped and spent so much money there.. being in customer service myself, this is unacceptable!! There are way too many other places we can take our business and will do so.. I recommend you look for the best customer service experience when shopping for jewelry, and it’s definitely not at Kay Jewelers in the Destin Commons.. what a nightmare!! Not worth the stress, I’ve already purchased another piece at another...
