First visit, great atmosphere and swanky joint. We started off with the tuna app which was your standard blackened tuna app. Dressed up and decent. Soy, ginger, orange flavors. However we moved to the fried green tomatoes, anywhere I go I go I have to try. These were some of the best I have had, coated in cheese and deep fried with a sweet bacon white cream sauce. These are worth the visit. Moving on to the entree, fried pork chop. Not mind blowing but very simple and delicious. Not overly breaded but just perfectly breaded with a light crisp and juicy bone in pork chop. The main draw back was the presentation. The pork chop was laid over the mashed potatoes and by the time is was served the mashed potatoes had caused the breading to become soggy on the underside. The greens were well done and tasted fantastic. Every was a few degrees cooler than I would have hoped. I prefer my food to be piping hot. Desert I had the bread pudding which was also just a touch cooler than I would have liked, still a very well rounded desert not overly sweet but just right. The texture was just a bit on the heavy side and slightly difficult to spoon into portions. Darby served our meal and was a delight, not overly intrusive and let us enjoy our meal and was attentive to our needs and checked on us regularly. Do your self a favor and ask for her. Over all a great experience, just need the food to be a little hotter by the time it hits the table.

This is our second time dining here, and it was a great experience just like the first. We brought mom here for her birthday last night. We started with deep fried pimento (demolished before I could get a picture), grilled shrimp, and half-baked oysters for the appetizers. All wonderful starters, but our all-time favorite, of course, is the deep fried pimento cheese. Delish! Our entrees for the night were two of the specials: hook to table featuring fresh fish of the day (sheepshead) and Delmonico 16oz ribeye steak. We also ordered the creole seafood pasta. All the dishes were amazing but the specials for the day were our favorite. If you get the grits, definitely ask for conecuh shrimp creole sauce on the top or to the side. That sauce is an amazing compliment to the fish and grits. We were too stuffed to try any dessert, but the ones we saw on other tables looked good, so definitely try it out if you save room. We'll be back again to try more menu items. Our goal is to try everything on the menu out. Thank you so much, Dumbwaiter and our server Amanda, for the wonderful experience. See you all next time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!

Let's start with it was my mother's birthday nothing mentioned even though I asked them to mention it . The atmosphere very was chic..service was fine ..The food was meh 5 out of 10 ..I mean bland!!! no wonder they bring you a salt and pepper shaker to your table. One meal was 3 large scallops 3 pieces of asparagus and a spoon of cauliflower and a slice of grilled orange for $34 come on way overpriced !!! ..Shrimp and grits the easiest of dinners and it was a culinary nightmare! it looked unappealing. The shrimps were awful! over cooked and tasted as if they were pickled . I took most of it home and I never do that .. Yuck!..From ordering our starter to receiving our dinner took way way to long. The only time they were fast is when they gave us our check and cashed us out. I was so so disappointed !!! I could've gone anywhere else and had a better experience for way less money.

When first moved to Mobile this restaurant was in my top ten restaurants to visit We had friends visiting and Noja and Dauphine's Were booked, so we decided on Dumbwaiter after hearing such great things. . Seems all of us had perused the menu at some point with our friends thinking this menu is solid. We started with wine and cocktails, a request for a buttery chardonnay and their signature Old Fashioned The request for the chardonnay was rebutted they did not have any and the ice in the old fashioned came with a gang of ice Irequested the ice to be changed and that was met with what all of us agreed as an inhospitable reaction from our server. . We followed with some starters, Caprese and Brussel Sprouts. We found both to be sweet, especially the Brussels. Entrees included: Stuffed Chicken with Ravioli, Rack of Lamb and Double Pork Chop fried - The presentation of all dishes were beautiful, looked so good 😊, the batter on the pork chops was golden, perfectly seasoned and crunchy. Too bad they were all a disappointment - one of the pork chops was overcooked, dry and collard greens with lardons on the sweet side. The chicken, being the most expensive, was dry as well and was not value for the money. . The Lamb was cooked perfectly and the puree was spot on, unfortunately the lamb was very salty, just when there was a glimmer of hope...

We still decided to stay and experience dessert, this is where they shun ☀, all desserts were very good, the Cheesecake was lovely; it was a good mix of airy and dense with the raspberry sauce providing a lovely colorful contrast to the dessert. The chocolate cake/ pudding was delectable. We did make up a dessert which included: two scoops of ice-cream, torn mint, nuts, berries and salt. This took our server over the edge it seemed. She made it known in so many words that this dessert made her lose her last table to another server. We were all in awe at this moment and it was at this time that 20% was no longer in the cards, we think she was having a bad day and we came at the end of it and was the straw that broke the back. Overall we had a disappointing experience. I would try them another time as I think we just had an off day and our server we think was already was having a bad day. I have no pictures to share this go around, it was this bad.

The ambience and dining environment is inviting, open and they feature an open kitchen. They feature a full bar with beers on tap, including craft beers. Solid after work chill spot, could see a treat happy hour vibe here. It's a nice restaurant. Service and food need work, well maybe we just had an off day. Will be back to give it another...

We booked for dinner on Valentine’s Day at 8:30 PM, same night as the Conde Mardi Gras parade and ball. Not only did the restaurant call us to make sure we knew about the ball, they even gave me a great spot to be dropped off downtown so we could get to the restaurant. We took their advice best we could and left 40 minutes before our reservation to be able to make it. However, the traffic was even worse than we thought and we looked at the clock at 8:37 feeling so bad for being late. We rushed out of the uber and ran to the restaurant where they were patiently awaiting us, greeting us with a smile! We felt awful for being almost 20 minutes late for the reservation but the servers and manager were so kind to us and understanding, we still were able to enjoy a FABULOUS meal and dessert. My boyfriend had the “Hook to Table” while I ordered the “Tensaw Tournedos” - let me just say, if you order either of those dishes, you are in for a TREAT. His fish was cooked to perfection with the most amazing sauce while my steaks and shrimp were cooked to order, so flavorful and juicy! We ordered the cheesecake and brownie w ice cream for dessert and both were equally as delicious as the other. The atmosphere, service, and quality of food were all stellar, even after a night of parades. We were impressed and will most certainly...
