Dear GameStop Customer Support,
I’m writing to formally report an extremely inappropriate and unprofessional experience that occurred today at one of your GameStop locations. What was meant to be a simple and joyful Father’s Day outing with my wife and 3-year-old son turned into a completely unnecessary and hostile situation.
While waiting in line, another customer appeared to be cutting ahead. I politely said, “Excuse me, no disrespect — I’m next in line.” This was said calmly and without aggression. In response, the store employee became visibly irritated and began escalating the situation without cause.
Shockingly, the employee called the police on me and my family. Even the responding officers were confused as to why they were called, and we ended up laughing with them at how absurd the situation was. After all of that, the same employee still sold us the game.
What made the situation even worse was that the employee made a threatening comment, saying: “You’re lucky this wasn’t outside.” This was deeply inappropriate and unsettling, especially in front of my child.
To top it all off, he also accused my 3-year-old son of vandalizing the store after my son briefly picked up and dropped an empty game case — something any toddler might do in a store setting. To suggest that this was vandalism is outrageous and completely uncalled for. It further shows that this employee lacks the judgment, temperament, and emotional maturity needed for a customer-facing role.
This experience was unprofessional, intimidating, and completely out of line. I am asking for a full investigation into this employee’s behavior and a clear explanation of what GameStop plans to do to ensure this type of situation doesn’t happen to another family.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would appreciate follow-up...
Read moreRude staff and extemely rude manager - Joe. I purchased 2 games 7-31-25. While there, the guy who rung me up was talking about pokemon cards the entire time and barely looked up to help customers. He also forgot to put one of the games in the case. Yesterday I finally got a chance to play the 2nd game and when I opened the case it was empty. I went back today 8-16-25 with the case and receipt to ask for the game and the manager absolutely refused. I asked him to check back inventory and sure enough there was 1 game left, matched mine. But he claimed wouldn't know if it was the same (even though when i bought it, they told me it was the last one. I offered to walk around the store to find the case of 1 they had in stock, that way if there was another case out on the floor, it would make sense they have that in the system. I went and checked there wasn't any other case, so it definitely was my game. The manager claimed anyone could have come in to steal a case off the shelf so he couldn't do anything. He said waiting a month to come back for a game is too long. I reminded him, it was only to 2 weeks, not a month and was playing the other game 1st. He was one incredibly rude guy who made it a point a keep saying you waited a month.... I said to him, there was no need to be rude about the ordeal, and he responded by saying, "I dont care, I can kick you out of the store if I want." I grabbed my game case and walked right out. Now normally for a $20 purchase, I would let this go, but I cant stand rude and nasty people like that manager. Joe, get some customer service training and do better. People like you are the reason gamestop is tanking. Ive been a gamestop customer and stock holder for years, and this experience may change all that.... all over a $20...
