So happy to finally have a Cava in South Jersey! If you are not familiar with Cava, it is basically the Mediterranean Chipotle. Except it is WAY BETTER!! There are a lot of vegan options - including roasted veggies, falafel and sweet potato. All of the items are labeled in regard to any food allergies that one may have. Almost all of the dressings are vegan. Many gluten free options. But, this is by no means a vegan restaurant. Meat eaters will also find a lot of great options as well.
As someone who is probably too familiar with this restaurant, I always find that people don’t always know how to order when coming in for the first time. Here’s how to order: Choose from the menu or create your own bowl/pita. If you’re eating in, I recommend saying, “a bowl for here” to avoid wasting disposables. Don’t forget to ask for a free pita (if you want one)
The workers typically guide you through the line.
Make sure to try their juices, many of which are seasonal. My favorite is the cucumber mint. The beat lemonade is really great too.
This Cava opened a little more than a week ago and I have already been here 3 times. I hope you enjoy this restaurant as...
Read moreWhen I’m usually in the Nixon Drive area, I stop at Panera Bread or Bertucci’s for a nice lunch. But, today I noticed this new (they opened in October 2021) Mediterranean fast food restaurant. I’m glad I stopped in. The food is unbelievably fresh and nutritious. Whether you choose a chef-curated pita or a bowl, there are plenty of ingredients to pick from- including lentils, white or brown rice, RightRice, chickpeas, hummus, tzatziki sauce, chicken, lamb, and much much more. If you are constructing your own pita or bowl, you pick your base, dips & spreads, protein, toppings, dressing, and any extras. They even have a Salted Dark Chocolate Chip Cookie for your after meal treat.
Cava also has an array of 6 healthy drinks, such as Pineapple Apple Mint, or Blueberry Lavender. They also do have the less healthy drinks to pick from.
Cava is definitely at the top of my list for a quick, but nutritious lunch.
Update 1/27/2022 Apparently during my 1st visit, I was mistakenly given a small cup for my drink. Today when I asked for a large cup I received a large one. So I removed my comment about receiving an unexpectedly...

Love the different options between pita sandwich, rice bowl, salad, or mix of “greens & grains” which is what is in my photo. Vegetarian & vegan folks would enjoy the options here, although I usually get the grilled chicken. The bowls are super colorful, and the toppings are unlimited. I like to do a half/half split for the “protein” with half chicken half roasted sweet potato. Can’t go wrong with any of the dressings, I usually get lemon herb tahini. Lamb meatballs are decent but not my favorite. Falafel is good if you don’t eat meat.
Their app is nice for rewards and fast ordering for takeout. But I recommend ordering in-person this way you can see the staff assemble it in front of you. They are friendly and helpful, and willing to help you customize your dish however you like it. I have not enjoyed my online orders as much as the ones I ordered in-person.
More popular for lunch, but I could eat here anytime of day. Would...
