If I could give 0 stars I would. This school sells you a dream. I enrolled in the Limited X-Ray Technician program in March 2018 and there were red flags from day 1. In the initial meeting with the school I SPECIFICALLY asked if I would be able to work in a hospital and was told yes with no hesitation and a smile. I signed up for the already full class and was set to start March 19. I have tattoos and piercings. Nothing too crazy but visible and was told in orientation that they have to be taken out and tattoos covered up. OK no big deal i just wish they told me this prior. So come the first day of class. Apparently EVERYONE had been told we would be able to work in a hospital and the teacher literally laughed and shook his head and told us that we would not be able to do that. I believe there was 16 students starting. The class had about 10 the next day. Eventually the teacher left for another job about 3 months into the class. We went thru 2 other teachers. Class was thrown off to the point we were being HANDED the answers to the exams and not really being taught anything. Red flag after red flag. FINALLY the director of the X-Ray program at that campus became the teacher. The classroom had film whereas real life has digital. We were literally taught how to take X-Rays in a way that isn't being used anymore. So with this being an X-Ray class you are basically signing up to be a Medical Assistant that can shoot an occasional x-ray at an urgent care because that's where you are limited to work at. You get 4 weeks of BARE MINIMUM MA training. They will tell you that you will RARELY use the medical assistant portion. THAT IS A LIE!! This should be a full blown medical assisting class that trains for occasional x-rays. This class is so poorly advertised I am so surprised this is an accredited school (trust me i will be contacting the Board about this place) so after ignoring these red flags, there were many more, my class went to extern last week of October 2018, that's where we saw how we were played. We were looked at as a joke to the urgent cares we were assigned to. We knew ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It was embarrassing how unprepared we were. The school only told us "well you will learn differently in the field" Listen here this is not the 1st trade school I have been to and i understand that you learn differently in the field but this was beyond embarrassing. To the point where I did not want to return to extern after the first day but I did and the 1st site I was at was AMAZING. I learned more there than I did in the school. Anyways, I was finished with my extern hours but NO WHERE near close to the views needed. You will need 50 upper extremities, 50 lower, 50 chest views. Those were done on time and the kicker is the 200 torso views that must be completed. I feel the "director/ teacher" of the course only got contracted with urgent cares that he knew the managers in. He did NOT do his job in looking for places that we could complete our needed views at. Trust me the whole school has excuses up the butt to cover all this up and downplay the students complaints. The course was advertised as an 11 month course. I dropped it in my 11th month because the staff is so unprofessional. No one cares about the life that happens out of the school for example deaths in the family, cars breaking down, being a single mother trying to provide a life for your children. BUT THEY ARE ON TIME TO CALL ABOUT THEIR LATE PAYMENTS and to remind you about a late fee. I am so disgusted by this school. So if you are looking for a good honorable school to attend to better your future stay AWAY from CCI...
Read moreMy time at CCI has truly been worth it. Initially I was hesitant to enroll since I'm already at my 50s, but i was treated with the same respect and support. The student services team, especially Ms. Tina, always takes the time to listen whenever you need to talk. She's willing to help in anyway she can. She is someone who genuinely listens and supports students. Mr. Jones one of the excellent theory instructor his lessons are engaging and the videos that he want you to watch are incredibly helpful, especially for the hardest part of the test the GREENLIGHT. He adds humor to his teaching, which keep the class lively and effective. Yes we experience having different instructors, but if you just focus your attention on studying, the changing instructor wont matter especially if you had an instructor like Ms. RIVAS, at first quite warm up to. But once she started teaching us during clinicals, I quickly grew to appreciate her dedication. You'll come to love MS Rivas for her hands on approach and for always being present and supportive. No matter the problem, she's there to offer guidance and advice. She always takes time to acknowledge and appreciate when your doing right as a student nurse. Mr. Lopez this Instructor super brilliant, especially in head to toe assessment, He will guide you and appreciate what you did right. To our Director of Nursing Ms. TINA DARLING, and our Administrator, Ms. QUINTANILLA, Thanks For being present and involved. you are not only there to check in on us from time to time, but also step in when necessary to correct, and guide us. I know that at the times, being reprimanded the whole class can feel discouraging, but with an open heart and mind, we come to realize that every correction it meant to help us grow and succeed. It becomes clear that your intentions are rooted in care and a deep desire to achieve our goals. The path we've chosen is not easy, and the investment- both financially and emotionally-is significant. That's why your involvement and guidance matter so much. Last but not the least, MR LEONARD PRYCE he guide me throughout the process in my NCLEX, encounter some problem, keep giving so much help and guidance, your the best Mr. PRYCE. THANK YOU CCI. Mr. CORNETTE and Ms. MACKEOUGH Thank you also for always listening and explaining if there are some questions that needs to clarifies. PROUD CCI GRADUATE AND PROUD LVN ( passed NCLEX already) TO GOD...
Read moreI am incredibly disappointed with my experience at Career Care Institute. This place is a complete mess and utterly unorganized. The instructors are constantly quitting, which makes it nearly impossible to establish any continuity in our education. When we do have classes, many of the instructors show up late, disrupting our learning and wasting the money we’ve invested in our education.
The staff’s lack of care for students is shocking. They expect us to be compassionate and dedicated to our future patients, yet they seem indifferent to our needs and concerns. The environment feels unprofessional and, frankly, unsafe. There have been incidents like school fights and even a bomb threat that raise serious questions about the safety of this institution.
To make matters worse, the administration often changes class locations at the last minute, sending out emails right before class without any regard for our time or schedules. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to deal with such disorganization.
The professionalism of the staff is another issue. Many of them do not present themselves appropriately for a nursing school. One staff member, in particular, had a floating wig that looked ridiculous, which is not what you expect from those in leadership positions. They should be setting an example for us, but instead, they look goofy and unprofessional.
Furthermore, one particular individual, who has claimed to have a past involving gang affiliation and struggles with substance abuse, now holds a leadership role. Despite her background, she maintains a demeanor that lacks compassion and professionalism, and her appearance still reflects the remnants of her past. It raises serious concerns about how she is supposed to be in a leadership position when her actions and appearance suggest that she may still be using. This greatly impacts the credibility of the school's administration and its ability to support students effectively.
Overall, I cannot recommend this nursing school to anyone considering a nursing career. The environment is chaotic and unprofessional, making it difficult to learn and grow. Save your time and money for a school that truly values its students and provides a safe, structured...
