I would like to say that it is so refreshing to find a bookstore that is black owned and geared torwards the betterment of our community on the Southside. However, there is nothing in the store (that I found) that states the return policy. Not even on the e-receipt I was sent when I made payment stating that they only do exchanges.
I picked up the wrong book from Dr. Llaila O. Afrika and didn't realize it until I got home to compare it from the book I saw on Amazon. Instead of keeping this book (since it is not the one I wanted) I decided to get my money back and get the book I intended on purchasing from Amazon. I went to return the book on March 28th, 2019 and was told that they only do exchanges and if I wanted a call as to when the book would come in. No. Not at all. I would like a full refund, not an exchange. Sad. Because of this factor alone, I will be looking to resell the book myself and no longer patronize this business.
If you are looking for a bookstore that will carry books torwards educating yourself on our true history, this is the place. Just make sure you are purchasing the right books or books that you truly intend on keeping. Peace my...
Read moreI LOVE Nubian Bookstore! The owner (Marcus) is amazing!!! First of all, let me start by saying I have been a loyal customer since he was in Southlake Mall. The store caught my eye as it was the only store in the area that sells Greek paraphernalia. Marcus is so helpful when it comes to locating items and sizes! The store is very clean and well organized and represented well for ALL D9 Organizations, OES and Masons! No organization outshines the other with the amount of nalia!
Now to the books! Nowhere in Clayton, Henry or surrounding counties will you find a bookstore with more Books by Black Authors! The children's books section is amazing! And I LOVE the books Marcus has written and sales himself! I have purchased multiple coloring books and my two kids LOVE them!! We don't see our children represented in coloring books that often and the pictures are very cute!
All this to say I HIGHLY recommend this bookstore. If you're looking for a great Black authored book, Greed Paraphernalia go in and ask Marcus! He will greet you with a smile and ask if you need anything!
Keep it up Marcus because you have a loyal customer for as long...
Read moreThe name of the store attracted me immediately. I imagined a store that was overflowing with all things related 2 the Magnificent black people that we are and I was not disappointed. I was really elated when I walked into the store and was greeted by all these wonderful books by black authors. I browsed through novels of drama, romance and action of which there were many and they got me deeply involved. There were books on African healing ,African food and spirituality that was challenging to me to stop reading because they were so deep in knowledge that any one could use. The children's books on black history and self-help were really impressive to me. All parents should introduce these books to their children as I think they would be very beneficial to their mental development and knowledge of themselves. One side of the store is devoted to fraternity and sorority apparel and there is a very wide selection to choose from to make you more proud of your brothers and sisters. If you love reading you will love this store. Get yourself over there and get busy reading. Say it loud," I'm Black and I'm...
