I am the type of person that joins a big-box gym, saves a bajillion pins to a "Work Out" board on Pinterest, buys all the healthy groceries to stock my fridge... && then ends up ordering pizza to eat solo on my couch by Saturday, completely unmotivated and hating myself for not actually using the membership I am paying for. Fit Factory Nashville is a completely different beast! I have literally jumped out of bed to go to the 5am class on Mon/Wed/Fri, and look forward to the 6:30pm class on Tues/Thurs. & I swear, I've never been one of those morning people, and I still show up half-awake, but this is hands-down the BEST way that I have ever found to start my day. They even had to add an extra class on Saturdays because the FFN fam shows uppp! Go figure :P The actual workout is only 30-40 min long with a warm-up before and cool-down to follow. They also take the time to demonstrate each movement/exercise we will be doing in detail to proper form/technique so you don't feel like you're going in to the workout blindly. I am in and out of there in just less than an hour. The workouts combine resistance training, HIIT training, cardio, you name it! The workouts are different every single day. The coaches are amazing! Molly was coaching my first few classes, so I am slightly biased and claim her to be the best :D All of them really focus on each individual person's form, listen to any restrictions you may have from injury etc. It is obvious right from the start that they truly want everyone to leave there feeling like they did their personal best. The community of this place is unmatched. They have a Facebook group for members where they post announcements, and can be used as a communication board for all. Every class I have attended, there have been at least 2-3 people that will approach me to introduce themselves and welcome me to the fam. Even on those dreaded days when the coach starts out by saying, "find a partner..." - I never feel like the "new girl", even though I still am. I would recommend FFN to anyone who wants to make the very MOST of their time at the gym. We are all busy and have other obligations (& excuses), but setting aside 1 hour of your day to be surrounded by positive people of ALL shapes, sizes, and abilities with a common goal to become the best version of themselves AND make a few friends along the way is probably one of the best decisions you can possibly make for yourself. OH! & they have a furry coach with 4 legs that comes through for occasional pets of encouragement, too. His name is Rudy! A 7 year old Golden Doodle. He & his parents own the place. Last thing! There is NO BS with this gym. Several of the specialty gyms are running ads for "6 weeks FREE" for new members, but there is always a catch and you're faced with high pressure sales. Fit Factory is completely straight forward. 1st class is free. 1st month is $49. No obligations. No contract to sign up after that. Nada. If you choose to sign up after your first month is up, you can commit to 6 months, 12 months, or buy individual classes/bundle of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to many fitness clubs in Nashville but hands down Fit Factory is the best! The atmosphere is friendly with no intimidation, the place is very clean, the coach are supportive and knowledgeable about what they do, and the workouts are really challenging. I have been going to Fit Factory for 5 months now and the praise I hear from other people is that the workouts are based around lifting, both body and weights, and not just all running like a lot of other places. Iām going to go ahead and callout another place that is popular in Nashville and compare it to Fit Factory. That place is Barryās boot camp. That place was god awful! I am not in to the ridiculously loud Hip Hop that was played as we worked out. Fit Factory plays music but it is not invasive. What makes matters worse is the lack of instructors at Barryās boot camp. At Barryās there is only 1 instructor while at Fit Factory they have 2, 3 sometimes 4. If you are lost or just want to make sure your form is correct you can easily ask a coach because there are so many. At Barryās there is just one and it is hard to get his/hers attention when the music is so loud. At Fit Factory they do a good job helping everyone learn the workout which lets you get more out of it and thus see better results. Another strong point is how clean the place is. I mean so clean you could almost eat off it. The place is wiped down all the time. Also the place is well ventilated. The place is large so it does not get stuffy like other gyms (cough Barryāās boot camp cough) Also all the space lets you do your burpees and actually have room. I recently visited another gym and literally couldnāt do burpees because we were packed in like sardines. Also if you like places that donāt do the change color light thing then Fit Factory is for you. I tried this place with crazy lighting which messed up my depth perception and ended up busting my chin open doing a burpee ļ. And finally the price. The price is not bad compared to other boot camp/workout/kickboxing/āwhateverā clubs. If you plan to go at least 3 times a week it is worth the money. Well thatās all for now. Again I have been to many places in Nashville and could probably write a book but these are some of the high points on the top of my head. I am probably missing more good things but you will just have to try it for yourself. The first class is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMost of the 5 star reviews on here come from current members who have been encouraged to leave reviews by being incentivized by being placed in a contest where the winner receives a weekās worth of free food, so of course itās 5 stars ;). Higher the rating = higher the chance of winning (although they wonāt tell you that). Hereās my take:
Workouts: This is pretty much CrossFit light (although not labeled as such). The moves are very repetitive and recycled often. I canāt think of any circumstance in life where I need to have the skill of doing a handstand or toe to bar (actually thatās a good way of getting hurt!). There are plenty of other programs in Nashville that offer a much more comprehensive workout that is functional. (Side note: I actually gained weight from being a member here).
Community: this is their bread and butter and theyāll make a point to remind you of that. Thereās possibly community if youāre fit and 27, but if thatās not you then itās a bit cliquey. This is the main reason why Iām no longer a member, I got tired of feeling like I was back in high school.
Trainers: Actually a bright spot in this review. JT is one of the best in Nashville. Molly will never give up on correcting your form. Iāve never been hurt doing some of these exercises and the quality trainers here are the reason why. Most programs in Nashville have quality trainers.
Price: competitive. Lower than most options in Nashville...
