Yeah its a white castle, and we were there after midnight, but this place was struggling. We were there for an hour total. At first we were pretty understanding, but then the staff started to get more than rude with us. They told us that they had a backlog of mobile orders to work through, so they needed to wait to take our order. This was fine. About 25-30 minutes later, we asked if it would be faster or more efficient for us to make a mobile order ourselves. One of the employees said "yeah actually that would probably be faster since it'll be in the system." So I placed a mobile order and while my cousin was trying to get the app going, another employee said she could take the order. My cousin asked me what I wanted, but I told her that I'd already just made the order on the app.
Later, my cousin gets her order and we're just waiting on mine. After maybe 20 minutes, the employee who took and gave my cousin her order asked what she was still waiting on, and she replied that we were waiting on my mobile order. The employee, clearly frustrated, said that we needed to tell her that we had a mobile order. I suppose she didn't understand when we'd told her that I had made a mobile order when my cousin ordered.
Then, another employee asks about my mobile order. I recap it to him. He said that I had only paid $14.53 online, but my order was actually $16+. We went over the order again, and he said that I had a combo, which I did not. He ran it again, and it was still $16+. I was also getting frustrated at this point, saying that the mobile order confirmation I had included the items and tax, but im fine paying whatever difference he's showing on his end just to get this taken care of. He ended up giving me my order at the $14.53 price that I'd paid on the app, and we left after spending an hour there.
I should mention also that the bathrooms have a combination number that has to be entered into the door handle in order to access the restroom. The number is at the bottom of the receipt, however this number was not correct, so that wasn't updated.
I understand they were busy, however they didn't seem too understaffed. They had at least 6 people that I counted in the kitchen. We were very understanding but then they started to get frustrated which resulted in us...
Read moreIn all my years, this was my first time at White Castle. There are none in our area and I have been told that Krystal's is not close competition. Well, maybe I arrived at a horrible location because I wouldn't return for another visit.
I have eaten White Castle microwave cheeseburgers and they honestly were better than the slop I got here. The store was not super busy with guests but the grill was loaded down. I imagine that's normal but what a long wait we had. It was over thirty minutes until we got our order which had problems.
My daughter ordered the chicken combo but the cashier rang her up for the #2 combo. Price was close although 2 and 4 do not rhyme, but neither was in the bags. I went to the counter and explained I was missing the #4 and the girl said she didn't charge us for one. I looked at the ticket and saw #2 which was missing anyway. That's where rudeness came into the picture.
A young man with braids came and said we put everything in the bag. I asked him to come to the table as we had not eaten anything yet. He came out and started to point out all our meals before stopping to identify the "invisible #2". I asked him where is the missing food and he pointed to a bag next to my daughter which was empty. His story changed after I asked him why would we lie about two sandwiches when we ordered 14 to begin with. He tried to cover up and said he just wanted to make sure we got what we paid for and would have the chicken out in a minute.....
15 minutes later, my daughter is still not eating anything. I go to the counter and another person says, "This dude says we owe him chicken sandwiches." The braided guy looks up and says, "Sorry, I thought she got them for you, just a second." The same person that called me "this dude" makes my food and we can finally eat nearly an hour after walking in.
I don't mind being called a "dude" and understand that mistakes are made, BUT I'm not a liar!! The food we ate should have all gone back because it was a soggy mess and poorly made. I didn't eat until my child was served and that did not make the food better. Food reviews are something I enjoy doing and I have a nice following so my only choice was to come here and other sites to share my experience. Hopefully, nobody else will be treated like...
Read moreThis was my first time having White Castle. I’d heard a lot of great things about it, and we don’t have one in my hometown so this seemed like a great road trip food stop. The fries were really soft and greasy, not salted at all though. I’m actually not sure how long they’d been sitting out, but I think a health inspector should drop by and check times and temps on the food. I didn’t get any of the sauce I asked for. I wanted to try the zesty sauce and ranch, and requested both, but after searching the entire bag there was nothing to be found. So, don’t bother even ordering any sauce. Both of my sandwiches were wrong. One was supposed to come without onion, and one was supposed to come without pickle. Both sandwiches were wrong. I’m pretty upset, as none of the food lived up to the hype surrounding White Castle. The slider bun on the two tier slider was so soggy it was mushy and we just wound up throwing it away, y’know ignoring the fact that the toppings were wrong. I know milkshakes aren’t exactly the big thing at White Castle, but when I order a milkshake I want it to be at least a little sweet and not taste like plastic. The weird taste of the milkshake had us wondering about the cleanliness of the store entirely. We used the app to order, which is super buggy but does have some nice coupons if you’re into that. I wouldn’t recommend using it though, as it takes forever to order lol. The service was incredibly slow and the worker made it sound like it was a huge inconvenience to serve us. We waited over 20 minutes in line for terrible food we ordered ahead…Someone please have a health inspector go by here....
