I currently live at Margaux midtown and overall would consider myself to have a âgoodâ (3/5) experience here. While the maintenance, cleaning, and events team are so kind and pleasant to work with, some of my interactions with the management of the building has left a bad taste in my mouth. Residents pay $75 a month for a parking space that is enclosed by a parking garage, however, a recent accident in the beginning of the month has caused the gate to break, leaving it very easy for random people to get up the garage and into the stairwells, as well as making breaking into cars very easy. While a key fob is necessary to get in most places, they arenât required in the stair wells and often times people hang out in their until someone else with a fob comes by to let them in (ex: uber eats people, door dash, etc). This makes it very concerning as midtown and the city in general has a great amount of homeless people nearby. The gate has been broken for 2+ weeks now and although accidents happen, I truly believe the residents should at least be compensated for the complete lack of security. I have had to call metro police twice this week due to uncomfortable interactions and witnesses of the homeless people right outside the building (ex: a homeless man urinating on the fire hydrant outside the garage and another homeless woman begging for money outside the leasing office). I have contacted the management team regarding this issue and throughout many back and forths of me respectfully explaining myself and the uncomfortable feeling I have due to the lack of recent security and recent events, I was told âsecurity is not guaranteedâ and that âno compensation will be givenâ. I am extremely upset and not because of the compensation aspect , but more because I feel like the team isnât acknowledging the fact that residents pay a lot to live here and live safely, especially young woman who want to feel secure when living alone and independently. It is sad that the team doesnât see any of these examples or this overall gate accident as a major concern, as it is not only putting the residents in danger, but also the staff. I really enjoy the complex and think it is beautiful and clean with great amenities, but that is besides the fact as safety should always be a #1 priority in any sense. I am upset with the âtoo bad accidents happenâ attitude demonstrated by the team, as I pay way too much to not feel completely safe at all times (like mentioned before: this is not necessarily about financial compensation, but some sense of credit, refund, or compensation for the complete lack of safety that has been occurring for the month of March).
Update: (because I can't reply to a response) Management team has been contacted multiple times in various ways and eventually I was left on delivered with no resolution...
Read moreI've waited some time to leave a review for these apartments because I really wanted to enjoy them. I've been here about a year. Cons- Starting off, these apartments are incredibly unsafe and the building staff refuse to do anything to help improve. My last straw was today when someone on the street just shot off a firework at the building. Called the staff and they said they can't do anything about it. I'm sorry, shouldn't you care about someone shooting fireworks at the building YOU WORK IN/MANAGE? This is also the 2nd time this has happened in a few days. I also have an unwritten rule to not go outside/walk my pet after it gets dark because of how unsafe the people that lurk on the streets are. The unhoused truly do take over the streets once it gets dark and it is very scary. We used to have a very nice night security guard but he was only here for a few months, not sure what happened there, since then it's only got more dangerous at night. Also, there has been so many car break ins. We also pay $75 a month for a parking garage that had a large string of breaks in last month. So our very expensive garage, and street parking isn't safe. Few other things to mention, the walls of these apartments are SO thin that you hear everything in the halls, from other apartments, and from outside. This apartment is right next to a medical center so you hear sirens at all times. I also randomly had self guided apartment tours coming into my apartment when there was an error online on which apartment was up for lease. Pros- The maintenance team are the nicest folks that work here, very hard working, friendly, and always respond to your request in a timely matter. The interior facilities and amenities are very nice and normally clean.
Management really needs to do something about the safety of their tenants and their property, you simply can't have a "not my problem...
Read moreI lived at Margaux Midtown for over two years and was initially very happy here. The apartments are beautiful, amenities were well kept and I felt very safe. I renewed my lease from June 2025 through September 2026. Unfortunately, my experience changed drastically when new management took over. From May to September 2025, I experienced constant billing errors, unexplained charges, ignored emails, and contradictory communication. When I went to pay June's rent there was a large increase with no explanation. I called and emailed with no response. When I went into the office, I was told my signed lease renewal âcouldnât be found,â so I was switched into a month-to-month rate. I decided to terminate my lease, giving proper notice and an hour later, management happened to âfindâ my lease. From then on, I received late notices despite paying in full, emails about needing to enter my apartment for maintenance requests that I never submitted, charges that were posted and then reversed multiple times, and eventually $4,600+ fees sent to collections without ever being itemized or communicated to me. After going back and forth for two weeks, everything has finally been resolved and I hope to never deal with these issues again. The lack of communication was the most frustrating partâI had to chase down staff at every step just to get answers. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Margaux until recently. My neighbors were all amazing, apartments and amenities were beautiful, but management was disorganized and unresponsive. I hope these issues were isolated and due to a change in management and that it is not reflective of everyone...
