I own and operate 21st Century Computers and we used to do cell phone repair. This guy is either a crook or doesn't know what he's doing. He also could care less if he makes customers happy or not. Avoid him and save yourself some grief. I took my wife’s iPhone to him to get the screen replaced. He did the repair quickly but charged more than he quoted and lost the buttons to the case. I was willing to overlook that but then we found the internal ear speaker no longer worked. Any iPhone repair tech knows It’s easy to stress the cables or damage a component when doing an iPhone repair, especially if you try to do it quickly. However, a reputable repair shop will correct their mistakes. I immediately told him about the problem and this guy first suggested we just use the phone only on speaker. I thought we was joking but he was serious. He then said we should just get a new phone. I explained the phone was working fine with the cracked screen but the ear speaker quit working when he replaced the screen. He said he did not know that it worked before and if I wanted it fixed, I’d have to pay him another $40. I told him I was not lying about the speaker working and that it just didn’t make sense for me not tell him about that problem when I asked him to repair the phone. He then acted as if he was going to fix it but he put through a hassle and made me wait for a couple of hours and he then said he needed $40 to fix it. I showed him a Google search that clearly showed the internal speaker would stop working following an iPhone screen replacement if the cable was stressed and speaker components could easily be damaged. He wasn’t fazed. I explained that I owned a computer repair company who used to do cell phone repairs and asked if $40 was really worth having a dissatisfied customer and getting a negative review and also losing out on future referrals from my company. He said he didn’t care. The bottom line is, this guy might fix your phone and you might not have any issues, but if you do, he does not stand behind his work and does not care if you satisfied or not. BTW, I’ve always received excellent service from Batteries Plus and if you are looking to get your phone repaired, I recommend them.
Response to new owner: "an educated extortionist"? That makes so sense. You think I'm trying to extort $40 from you? The fact is, you broke the speaker while replacing the screen and you don't stand behind your work. I understand you are a new owner. Here's some advice, your business won't last long when you treat...
Read moreNot a good experience. I stopped by the store looking for an additional adapter and cord. I was shown a "cord" and this box. Both were the same price so I took the box and paid for it.(I had to ask for a receipt of the purchase). Later I opened the box to find there was only a cord in the box (there was a place for the cord but also an indentationfor the adapter)!! I returned to the store, expecting there had just been a mistake. I was informed that I only ask for a cord, I said that was not correct but I would just take a return and go somewhere else. I was told "no returns" and when I questioned that I had not been told "no returns" and was treated badly. I then ask for my merchandise (which the salesman was holding) I was told "No" that he wanted to 'explain'. I informed him that I was not interested in his explanation (accepting MY error of trusting him to be fair to the customer) and INSISTED he give me what I had already paid for and let me leave. So, if you visit this store, make certain you "check the box" before paying for the...
Read moreThis man really charged me $224 to fix my cracked screen and sell me a tempered glass when I can’t even use the phone!! Why tf did you sell me a protective screen cover if I can’t even use the phone? I cracked my phone and dropped it in water and the screen stopped working. I bring it to him and he looks inside and then tells me he knows he can fix it. He tells me to come back next day. When I pick it up he says my phone has to be restored and he said he had it plugged up all day and it never worked. He also told me there was no water damage so he didn’t charge me for it. That’s a lie! There has to be water damage because I just left Apple and they couldn’t do anything about it. He said if I take it to Apple they can fix it which was also a lie. How can you charge me over $200 to fix my phone when i can’t even use it? A waste of money and you would think people would be less selfish with this...
