I lived in this building for about 8 months. My experience was stressful due to health issues that didn’t allow me to stay for the full term of my lease. I will say the staff is very kind, accommodating and supportive, especially given my circumstances. However, the building itself is concerning. My cat and I both were very reactive to something in my apartment. Could be mold, dust (very dusty) or lead (paint was chipping and peeling all around the apartment). The electrical in the adjacent vacant space (was a bank) caught fire once and filled my hallway with smoke/chemical odor and it was never brought to the attention of the tenants. The elevators constantly go out with no notice. The laundry facilities never worked correctly and were not replaced when tenants were told they would be. And overall it wasn’t luxury, that just seems to be a NYC label to make the rent higher. There was hardly ever communication between management and tenants via email, which I had not experienced in my previous rentals.
All in all, the staff makes the place, the apartments and amenities do not. And I had an incredible view. Not a fan of Equity Residential and wouldn’t recommend renting from a company with...
Read moreI have lived at 71 Broadway for more than ten years which should demonstrate how much I enjoy living in this building.
My apartment has high ceilings and large windows, both of which create a feeling of spaciousness.
71 Broadway is located in the heart of FiDi which is undergoing a renaissance. Just about every subway line is located in the immediate vicinity of the building and there are lots of new bars, restaurants and retail outlets popping-up close-by.
The building is both family and pet friendly which creates a true sense of community and we are fortunate to have a wonderful roof deck with spectacular views of the World Trade Center and waterfront.
Most importantly, 71 Broadway is home to the best management, concierge, maintenance and porter staff in the city. All members of the team are very friendly, professional and extremely attentive and have become like family.
All-in-all a wonderful team and a...
Read more10 out of 10 stars. I've lived in Los Angeles, Aspen, Boston and beyond and this has truly been the nicest management that I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Every single person that works at the front desk and beyond is a gem. Super nice people. The apartments are gorgeous and feel like triple the square footage. The high ceilings have spoiled me forever. I had to move out of state otherwise I would still be there. I initially toured over 18 apartments in NYC and this one stood out way beyond the rest. Love how it's a landmark building and the view of Trinity Church is next level. The rooftop is also incredible and they do an awesome job at hosting resident events. Highly recommend. Thanks for making such a cozy home for me while I was there!
Also, I wanted to add that I never saw one bug or any type of creature - that can always be a worry, especially in a big city - so that was...
