Arts On Site NYC, Inc. — Local services in New York

I’ve always had a pleasant experience with booking space at Arts on Site until now. The cozy studios with exposed brick and hardwood floors is very attractive to any artist, this being the main reason why I have booked the space so many times in the past.

We booked Studio 5F for a dance event for my dancers who travel up from Va. each year around this time for the NYC Dance Parade. After much confusion as to who best to talk to about this type of rental, I was finally put I contact with Kyle who apparently handles all rentals for studio 5F.

Kyle was initially helpful until we had to cancel our reservation last minute due to a dancer family emergency. Although, I aprreciated Kyle holding the slot for us, we had not yet paid for our booking so technically our reservation was not complete.

Kyle sent me multiple texts expressing his frustration with our cancelation and proceeded to say that we would no longer be able to book space at Arts on Site again.

I think this is ridiculous. Emergencies happen and there needs to be something set in place due to situations such as this. Also, it was very unprofessional for this matter to be discussed via text message. I advised Kyle that we should email because I did appreciate the constant text messages so early in the morning.

This situation is so unfortunate as I always enjoyed booking space at Arts on Site but I will not do business here if I receive this type of harassment over a cancelation. There are plenty of studio spaces...

Since coming to New York three years ago, my most cherished memories thus far have in some way shape or form involved this space, the people that run it, and the numerous amazing people that attend its various events. Kyle, Chelsea, and Adrian are truly one -of-a-kind human beings, enough cannot be said about their passion, energy, and commitment to the arts in this city. Cheers to Arts on Site and all that you do!...

What a treat! Went to one of their third Saturday of the month events and was blown away by the talented artists and also how absolutely warm and inviting everyone was. Definitely arrive early if you want to sit on something besides the floor. An eclectic assortment of performances (opera, spoken word, but primarily dance when I went).
