Drop-off (May '23): $1 per lbs with $10 min.
Half the washers & dryers are broken.
One washer literally ate almost $5 in coins because it didn't register the quarters entered, but also didn't refund them at the bottom, like they usually do. The attendant refused to believe me, claiming I hadn't input any money so I entered another full fare again. Then she believed me and forced the machine to run. However ::she refused to refund my money:: even though it's their fault. Instead she offered me their cheap soap -- no thank you.
I discovered their sink only has cold water. The handle for hot water is missing and the water is FREEZING cold.
They overcharge for wash/fold services in such a low-end store using low quality detergents. There is a lot of competition with better facilities nearby. Their proximity for a quick emergency load is the only reason I pop in these days.
They have NO AC in Summertime and poor ventilation. A literal sweatshop!! The entire place is dingy, dirty, poorly lit, and looks run-down. It looks like the owners have neglected this laundromat for decades.
Hard to clean your clothes in an unclean place. I don't place the attendant as she can only do so much AND process wash/fold orders, in the seasonal cold/heat no less. I blame the slum-lord owners.
Tip: you'd attract more customers if your shop was brighter, more cheery, and hospitable. Some AC or heat is crucial for everyone, especially worker's right. A little music wouldn't hurt. If conditions were bearable enough for people to fold their clothes on-site, you could install a vending machine for snacks, etc (more revenue). Let sunlight in by rearranging signs and drop-off laundry. Repaint the walls to reflect some...
Read moreAfter my clothes finished washing the machine door didn’t want to open. I approach the lady that was working there and told her my issue. She checks the machine and tells me it’s not finished yet. Despite being washed for 37 minutes. I kept telling her that and the machine even stopped spinning and she kept telling me the same thing. Then she pushed a button and a whole new cycled started again!!!! My clothes we’re being re-washed for another 37 minutes cycle, which extended my time drastically. Due to the fact that the machine was broken, it delayed everything else. I put two machines of clothes to dry and they were finished before the washing machine was done. Once it finally finished I put my last load (the one that washed twice to dry). I made sure to put an exact timer on my phone to pick it up. Once I get there, the laundry mat is closed despite the woman seeing me timing it and knowing I’m coming back. Horrible and...
Read moreSolid place. I've been coming here since my move to Astoria in April 2020. They're hours are pretty good, early enough before work and late enough for after work. Always clean inside. If a washer or drier isn't working they'll have a note but it's never an issue where there's a long line to get things done. Less than 5 times I've been there and it's been full to where I needed to wait for other people to finish. Pricing I think is decent, $2 a load to wash $4 for larger load and .25 cents is 8min worth of drying time. Owners/workers are nice, quiet, and resepectful. They also have a change machine but it only takes, $1, $5, and $10. Anything larger they'll break down into smaller...
