The last time I went last October, I had the worst possible experience. I arrived to my appointment on time after work, and we were going over what I was going to get.
I told Lola, the receptionist, that I wanted to go with what I got last time, and she looked at what I had on file. I'm not the most familiar with eyelashes, so I don't know the names of all the sets, but I had been content with the last two times I had been there. I don't like anything too crazy, so I knew that whatever I had on my file would be enough for me. But apparently, the names for the eyelash sets I had gotten the last two times were different (the names of the sets weren't the same, but again I knew the last two sets had been fine and pretty natural). Since it was my birthday, I asked, okay just give me the more dramatic of the two (again, I have NEVER gotten anything crazy, I only ever get natural lashes, so I was asking to imply that out of the natural sets I have gotten in the past, please give me the more "dramatic" one since I have an event). As a customer, I trusted that what they had on my file was correct.
Unfortunately, what they had on my file was incorrect. They gave me the wrong set of lashes, they were so incredibly dramatic - I had never gotten anything remotely close to this. I immediately voice my concerns, and I was met with attitude, saying that's what I got the last time. I kept saying that there's no way this is what I got last time, I would never walk out with something like this. The girl kept saying that lash techs do things differently, completely ignoring my claims that this looked like a completely different sent. She tells the lash tech to take some lashes off, but nothing helps. I was HORRIFIED thinking I had to go into work like that the next day (keep in mind my event was two days from now).
The lady at the front desk kept implying I was wrong. I asked her for the date of the last time I was here, so I could pull up a picture of what my lashes looked like after my last appointment. I find a picture with the exact date, and this is when she FINALLY understands. She states that this is so "weird", that they have never had incorrect info on their files before. She says that the solution is to still pay for 40% of the INCORRECT set, plus the full price of the new one. She tried to make it seem like she was being accommodating by offering me free lash removal, when the only reason I had to get lash removal was because of THEIR MISTAKE. Her defense was that I was given a "lash consultation" beforehand, so I had seen pics and videos of the incorrect set. A picture and a video from their Instagram account that is pulled up when I ask a question because I'm confused is NOT a consultation. You cannot expect customers to just know the different names of sets and follow/ understand the pictures you're hastily showing them. On top of that, I was never able to get in contact with the owner because she was out of the country. I told the front desk lady to please get her in contact with me as soon as she got back; it's been over a month and I have heard nothing. I had to pay for 40% of an incorrect set, travel to Astoria from Brooklyn where I work TWO days in a row to travel all the way back to Manhattan where I live, and pay full price for the new set. Truly HORRIFIC customer service, do not come here. Their work may be fine, but rest assured you can find the same price with way better customer service.
I would understand paying 40% of a set I thought I would like, then changed my mind after. However, I TRUSTED WHAT WAS ON MY FILE AS A CUSTOMER. The mistake was on their end, and the burden should have been on them.
UPDATE: The owner conveniently got back to me after I posted this review and offered me a free set, apologizing for Lola's behavior and poor customer service skills. While I appreciate her reaching out, it seems that the establishment's customer service needs to...
Read moreTHE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED I’m writing this review after multiple visits to this establishment, and I genuinely feel scammed. My first appointment was okay, I got light volume lashes. However, the very next day, I woke up with red eyes and the lashes started falling out in chunks. I let it slide, thinking maybe the glue was expired or something minor. Three weeks later, I returned for my second appointment. I was told at the front desk that they had all my previous information, so I didn’t need to explain anything to the lash tech. I trusted them. When I opened my eyes at the end of the appointment, I was shocked to see thick, heavy lashes, definitely not light volume. I didn’t say anything at the time because I had to rush to work, and I didn’t want to make the lash tech redo them for a mistake that wasn’t hers. At checkout, the receptionist tried to charge me for a new set instead of a refill. When I explained it was just a refill, she said it looked like I had very few lashes left, well yes! because they started falling out the day after my first appointment. She told me I should let them know when that happens, but again, I didn’t even complain. I left with lashes so heavy I could see them when my eyes were open. Still, I tipped the lash tech 20% and left. At my third appointment two weeks later, I showed a picture from my first visit and asked for that exact same look. The tech agreed and told me I definitely didn’t have light volume at the time. She removed the full set and applied a new one with light volume clusters. I was very happy with the results she was gentle and did a beautiful job. Then came the front desk issue again. Even though I was in for a two-week refill and the mistake was on their end, the receptionist decided to “accommodate” me and charge me for a four-week refill instead of a new set. I still tipped 20% off a full set, out of respect for the tech who fixed everything. A week later, I booked another two-week refill. The day before, I received a confirmation text, which I confirmed. Then a few hours later, I got another text saying they didn’t have my card on file and I had to text or call in my credit card informations or else my appointment would be canceled. I replied that I didn’t feel comfortable sharing my credit card info over text or phone, but I’d happily give it in person when I arrive tomorrow. Instead of respecting that, I was told I had to Zelle them a $30 deposit or my appointment would be canceled. Mind you, this was during my work hours on a Friday, and I was in meetings. I then received another text stating I had until 6 PM to send the deposit or my appointment would be canceled. I missed that text due to work and lost the appointment. I understand charging a fee for no-shows or last-minute cancellations, but asking for a deposit just to book an appointment, especially when I’ve been a returning client who never missed a session, is absurd. No other salon, whether lashes, nails, or spa has ever demanded payment before receiving the service. This establishment is unprofessional, disorganized, and clearly more concerned about squeezing money out of customers than delivering consistent service. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone. I will be taking my business elsewhere, there are plenty of lash bars that actually value...
Read moreMy first time visiting this business was in May. I had to do a removal and requested a natural eyelash set and paid $130 which I thought that's not that bad. Prior to laying down to get started, they asked me what length I wanted even though they knew I was there for a natural set. I asked for the length I get everywhere else I've been, 10,11,12. She responded with oh 12 we have to charge extra $20 so I was quite embarrassed to say no and that's the length I always do. It was very uncomfortable that she blurted that out in front of all the other customers so I agreed impulsively. After math when she called me because they did not want to explain via email. Reasoning for adding an additional charge was the 12 length mixed and as per lashbar it's a thicker lash. Had i known that I would have went elsewhere. I find that pretty ridiculous especially when you arrive after making appt. I felt like it was $10 just to walk in. I noticed that they removed the pricing for touch ups. I wish I had taken a screenshot in May when I began to write this review because it looks like they took it down. I wonder why! Simple answer, very deceptive business operations with pricing. I don't mind paying but don't lie and make up pitiful excuses why your prices for touch ups cost more than a new set because of eyeliner. She has the nerve to tell me it depends what make up you use and if it's oil based. It felt like it was just one insult after another. Like you don't know what kind of make up I use why don't you ask before assuming! I've been doing lash extensions before you were born! I went for my touch up which was 16 days, 2 days over 14 days and had they charged me for 3 weeks I would get that but you charged me $100 for a 2 week filling. That's not a good way to start with a loyal spending client! I'm very disappointed with how everything was handled. No one could explain to me how this works other than respond to me babe in the email and ask me to call again. In 2 weeks and 2 days I spent $230 on my lashes when their website listed completely different pricing. In 2 weeks supposedly because I had eyeliner on they had to charge me $100 for a 2 week touch up not even a their most expensive set for 4 weeks cost that much. There is absolutely nothing they can say that would ever convince me to go back here. They offered a discount after my initial complaint but that's not why I complained. I don't want a discount. I have no problem paying for services, it's the deception that I cannot fathom. I do not recommend this business and their deceptive way of operation. Try being honest and transparent and you'll keep your...
