3 Stars.. because I actually liked the cIass I took at 12:20PM on Memorial Day. That lady was really nice and dope. I believe her name is Jennifer.
But lets talk about the front desk. Barrys, why are you not vetting the people that is supposed to be the front line of your company.
I got checked in by 2 nice ladies, which is fine. But its the encounter I had after that really left a bad taste in my mouth.
I am talking about the two men, who I didn't get their names, but one was a tall white man, and one was a bit shorter, skinny, asian man. This is the best description I can give. They weren't that memorable. But i'm sure you can look at your schedule and see who worked at that time.
Scenario 1: I had to step out because I was cramping, and needed some water. I stepped outside and asked for a little cup just to have some water in my system (I forgot my water bottle at home, I guess thats my bad). He said "we sell the water bottles for you to buy". I am not going to buy and go through a transaction just for a sip of water. When I asked for a cup, he eventually got up (with a little attitude) , passed me the cup and said "we rarely do this, we want to keep our companies sustainability policy".
Okay.. i'm all bout sustainability, but over WATER BRUH?? It's not that deep. We recycle out here.
Scenario 2: I wanted to grab a protein shake and realized that there was no one manning the bar. So I went to the front to ask. The tall white man goes "oh we usually ask people to order before hand to order."
This is my FIRST Barry's class. How tf am I supposed to know that you have to order prior? And of course, he acted like he was doing me such a HUGE FAVOR by asking me "its fine.. i'll do it this time, what would you like?"
Your margins on these protein shakes are HUGE, why would you not want to sell that? and then give an attitude about it? It's just a protein shake. Treat customers like you're happy to be there.
Scenario 3: I came with a friend and I was waiting to pay for the protein shake. And the asian man told my friend "can you check in?" and she has already taken a class, shes just waiting for me to pay. And when she said shes just waiting for me, he said "can you stand over there?" like whaaaat? cmon mann.
anyways. class was great. staff was lil weird. im just gonna assume they're going through some things with their lives. but I wont go to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent there thinking Iāll be getting into class as the app said āyouāll be assigned a spot ahead of classā
Arrived early after traveling from out-of-state just to learn that there are no spots and that the app doesnāt tell you if youāre on standby or not. Reason for two stars is the complimentary class received due to the inconvenience.
Additionally, the shake bar is preorder only. Barryās prides itself by being the best workout in the world, however, the bootcamp experience isnāt only the class but the after recovery as well. If being understaffed at most locations means theyāre not able to provide full-service for their guests beyond the class, then quite frankly customers shouldnāt be charged hefty amounts.
Instructors are great! Highly recommend you check out their profiles before to make sure they fit you best. If itās your first class, make sure you communicate well with the front desk and make sure you understand what they mean to ensure a great experience.
Facilities are small but well taken care of, they use OUAI products, Dyson hairdryers, and have grooming essentials which makes you feel FRESH after the workout.
They tend to contact you after the class to make sure your experience went well and have great offers every once in a while.
Overall, itās an okay experience. Reasoning is the price and overall service provided beyond the class. For such service, I wouldnāt pay more than 20$ and would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid if you don't want to be injured and humiliated! I was very excited to see that Barry's opened a location across the street from me, but got very quickly disappointed. The only thing they got is a renovation. Instructors are not qualified and not caring. I took 3 classes and the low level was consistent. They do not tell people what to do while push them for heavy weights. Poses are not corrected and you see people just running towards injury. Manager is beyond rude and addresses people "hey, hey, you". I did not come to a workout class to be demeaningly called in front of all the people there by a 20 something "manager" " hey, hey, you"..... Because what? because my spot was not correct. When i asked for a refund, i was told that it is against their policy. The space is very poorly ventilated and therefore it smells inside. For mr the music was very loud, but I understand it is a personal preference.
Overall - neighborhood has many other options for a pleasant, safe and good workout. Barry is definitely not...
