Blown away by how rude every single person who works there was. I have worn these hideous shoes my entire life and yet the entire staff made it clear they didnāt think I had money to spend in this dumb store. I wanted to buy two different pairs of shoes (one sandal and one clog or shearling warmer option) and I was spoken to like an alien: āummm what do you mean by āflip flopā exactly?ā Lady, what do you think I mean by āflip flopā??? They repeatedly explained that I needed their wide/regular fit (why else would I be at this ugly a$$ store?) and if I even glanced at an option that only came in the narrow fit they would immediately bark at me to not even take a peek that way. I said I wanted to try on a size 39 and they said they needed my American size because people usually donāt know their EU size. I had just said my EU size and I was confident I knew my own shoe size despite how stupid they thought I was. I ended up just leaving the store. I donāt know if they work on commission but I donāt want one person there to have it. You get better service walking into an HermĆØs store wearing an airbrush tee and Nascar hat inquiring about their most expensive custom bag than going into this dumb ugly store in a glorified mall in Williamsburg asking for some ugly beige wide width sandals. I think they must have a gas leak and have a collective delusion that they work at a Bulgari store in the south of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've come to this location several times and each time left without buying anything, even though I knew what I wanted. That's because the sales staff have been indifferent, condescending, and obnoxiously rude. I think they are under a delusion that they're doing their clients a huge favor by gracing them with their presence or that they are selling life-saving necessities and not basic footwear. The attitude at this location is astounding.
The manager was talking about me IN FRONT OF ME in the third person. Must have gotten her training at those grocery stores where cashiers discuss their personal affairs while ignoring customers. She seemed annoyed and couldn't be bothered to take the (brand new) shoe being handed to her. She literally waited until the sales associate set it down on the display in front of her as if it was below her to handle their own merchandise.
She also lied about the exchange process for online orders and told me that the clearly worn shoes I received from their warehouse weren't worn. It was, according to her, "how suede is". Never mind the almost-bald sides on both shoes.
I ended up calling the main warehouse and was told that every Birkenstock location is individually owned and not part of the corporate unit and that my replacement would be shipped out the same day and not after a week and a half, as the store girl insisted...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was my 2nd day entering this location. The minute I entered I wasn't even politely greeted the first thing I was told was to put on a mask. I was with my family, my son who has Autism did not want to put his mask on and the employee continued to insist on putting his mask so my husband very frustrated took my 16yrs son outside when he was just politely sitting on a bench waiting for us to finish up our shopping. If my younger son wasn't graduating tomorrow I would have left and gladly would have gladlyspent my money elsewhere. Next time teach your employees to have more compassion & greet customers before policing them the minute they enter a store on wearing masks which isn't a LAW!! NO ONE IS OBLIGATED TO WEAR A MASK BECAUSE IT ISN'T A LAW!!! And forcing anyone to wear it especially someone who is disabled is...
