Stopped in for a quick class while in NYC - very challenging and prices for a single class are really good and the studio has a cool vibe! Instructor was nice and the front receptionist was welcoming however as someone who do Pilates frequently there are some areas that could be improved;
challenging but not in a productive way (I felt like the routine was challenging but because of the bigger class 90% of the people werenât doing the right form so the workout wasnât actually effective)
hard to access studio (buzzer was not working well and thereâs no instructions on website how to access the studio. Also you have to take the elevator up but then you can only exit via weird and tight staircase at the back?)
extremely small change room with little to no facilities. Usually I find studios will have aerosol deodorants, dry shampoo etc for guests to use
lockers with no locks? Would be helpful to have that clearly stated or provided, felt weird leaving my bag in an unlocked cubby because I assumed the lock would be built in the locker
Overall not the best studio although it was a convenient and well priced class for Pilates while...
   Read moreIf I could give Bodyrok zero stars, I absolutely would. This place has, without question, the most disorganized and unprofessional customer service I have ever encountered. I was never notified about being moved off the waitlist for a class, despite their baseless claim that I was. As a result, I was charged for a class I didnât even know I was confirmed for.
After asking politely for a refundâwhich they initially agreed toâthey had the audacity to reverse their decision without any explanation. This kind of backpedaling is not only shady but completely unacceptable.
As someone with extensive experience in customer service, I can say without hesitation that dealing with the staffâespecially the sales associate and whoeverâs pretending to be managementâwas an absolute nightmare. Rude, dismissive, and clearly untrained in even the most basic standards of client care.
Do not book here. Ever. The management is a joke, the systems are broken, and once I burn through the rest of my classes, Iâll be canceling my membership for good. Bodyrok should be...
   Read moreThis is not your mom's pilates studio. I've never done a workout on a reformer that was so difficult - the classes are challenging. Be ready to work.
What I like: I feel this workout the next day - my muscles are sore AF. Working at my own pace; speed and reps are not a thing in these classes - the slower you move the better. I really appreciate the instructors calling this out frequently. Instructors are motivating. The space is beautiful.
Tough Stuff: It can be tough to follow along with the instructors when they call out how to do each move - not every move is demoed for the class on a reformer so you REALLY have to listen to the instructions to figure out what you're doing. The lights inside (blue + pink) are intense! I wish the lights were a little dimmer, and maybe not colored.
Overall I have a good time and I actually feel the work my body does during these classes (I don't get that from all reformer classes). I will continue to come to this studio, thanks for the...
