Alan a former colleague always had the best hairstyles. They were cool, subtle and fit him perfectly. One day I had the gumption to ask him where he got his haircut. At this point I had been to many barbers and stylists that cut my hair but overlooked my personal style. There was always something missing. Alan told me that he went to a stylist in the east village named Gerardo. I asked him for Gerardo's contact information and made an appointment. When I met Gerardo I instantly loved his fantastic personal style. He made me feel relaxed and like we had known each other for a long time. As we talked about my ideas for that first haircut I knew that he was taking my own style into account. That was 2009. Since then I have changed my look a variety of times and with each haircut Gerardo has complemented my current look. It's a rare and magnificent feeling to walk into a hair appointment and love every cut and style. Gerardo has been cutting my hair for nearly 13 years! Gerardo has been able to give me amazingly stylish and fresh cuts at every length I’ve had, from short to medium length, to when I had hair midway down my back; I get plenty of compliments every time. He has literally given me my best haircuts! I have referred other people to him, and they have also become loyal customers. There is a reason why I continue to see him after all these years; he gives excellent haircuts, plain and simple! But, of course, his energy, positivity, creativity, and reasonable prices are a plus. Gerardo is a true gem. I have curly hair and a lot of it and am a hairstylist loyalist. I have been commuting to my guy in LA for years. After years of complimenting a coworker on her hair I finally asked her for her hair stylist info and she said she has been following Gerardo for years through different salons and now here at his own spot. The salon is beautiful - perfectly located on ground level in wonderful neighborhood. It’s super clean, small, and personal as it’s just him cutting and washing hair. What I loved about him is the amount of attention he took to really understanding what I want. Took every detail I said for consideration and asked questions along the way if it was how i liked it, how i was use to my previous stylist doing it.
