Cocomelody New York Store — Local services in New York

I'm from out of state and my wedding is in yet another state, so I had to attend this appointment by myself. Luckily Qiara was the MVP for dress consultations, and she helped me to video conference in my mom and MoH. The silver lining to this pandemic is that I got the store to myself with the 1-on-1 attention I haven't been able to get at David's Bridal. I could honestly write a 500 word essay on how awesome Qiara is at her job and at finding the right dress and offering her sage advice, but I'll keep it short. She is attentive, patient, and not judgy. She never rushed me or pushed me into making a sale, which was greatly appreciated. Though to be clear, I did make a purchase after double checking alterations costs back home. Maybe I've just had uniquely bad experiences with other businesses, but it's been 5 days and I'm still over the moon at how wonderfully the appointment went.

As for the shop itself, it is bigger than the pictures let on. Tons of mirrors, ample lightning, both natural and synthetic. The changing rooms are a lot bigger than I expected, too. I could actually spread out without worrying my elbows would bump into a wall (not the case with other salons I've been to). If I recall correctly, the one concern was the bathroom? I think it had a curtain rather than a door on it, so it might be weird to use the restroom when others are present in the store. However, I can't recommend this place enough. I attended both the first and second pop up event in NYC. The first time I did not say YES to the dress. Tyler was the associate helping me out and he did a great job of showing me so many beautiful dresses. He also handled my crazy family like a CHAMP but in the end, I didnt find the one. The second time Benjamin and Qiara helped me. I also only took my sister with me and that helped lessen the pressure. I went during the day on Friday which was such a peaceful time. I was there ALL ALONE which was perfect. They seemed to have alot more selections for me to try on this time and I fell in love with each one. I enjoyed being able to select the dresses I wanted to try on. I didnt feel rushed or pressured. Both Benjamin and Qiara gave so much positive feedback. At first I was a bit nervous coming to Cocomelody because of the short bridal appointment. I thought I was going to feel rushed but I still wanted to check it out because of the inexpensive and cute dresses. First of all my consultant, I think his name was Matt (really tall guy), was absolutely amazing! He was super friendly and made me feel like I was his only priority in the world. He had me start by pointing out the dresses I liked in the shop, and with me only pointing out one dress to start, he took my vision and found a similar dress he thought I would love. Well, I ended up not liking the dresses I picked out on my own but the dress he picked out was literally perfect! If I were to show you all the dresses on my Pinterest board and then the dress he picked out, they are one in the same. I am amazed by how Matt knew exactly what I wanted in a dress with almost no information to go off of. He's amazing, Cocomelody is amazing, and I am so happy I said yes...
