I had a bad, disheartening experience at this location when I visited the Fulton St location on July 05, 2020 @ 10:30 am to make an exchange... I was carrying (2) bags one with food inside and an other one with the exchange items.... I entered the store on the Livingston St entrance and was harassed by this African American male watching the door and checking in shopper’s bags... I told him that I can’t give him my bags as one has my personal items with the returns and the other one has food inside...He insisted that I give him my bags... Then this white male manager walked up to me and I told him of the situation... Then, He told me I can keep my bags... I proceeded to walk towards the Fulton St entrance to check in my return items... I asked the African American security male that was standing at the door that I was here to make an exchange then he told me to wait by this counter For the counter person to come... He gave me a receipt so that I can go to pick up my new items to exchange... I was harassed again by the cashier ( not African American) that took my returns and said to me “I have to check in my bags... I replied, “I already did that and was approved by the White male manager”... He insisted that I checked the bags... I reiterated to him and walked away”... He then, told the same African American male security at the entrance of Fulton St... When I got downstairs and started shopping... This older African American male was standing a 2 feet away from me watching me... SERIOUSLY!!!! RIDICULOUS!!!! When I was done went back upstairs to the check out counter to make my exchange... Why did I have to keep proving to them that my bags was approved by the Manager to come in the store!!!!????? And have the nerve to send other security personal to follow and watching me throughout the store while I shop...
I have been shopping at this location for more than 30 years and I thought that they have stopped this racial profiling and the ridiculous practice by thinking every black shopper is a thief just because they bring in bags inside the store... They have these unprofessional employees walking around treating us like thieves, and making you feel uncomfortable... Most of the shoppers are people of color coming to shop for their children!!!!
These employees have to follow the rules that upper Management put in place to follow!!! That would be BS that they are...
Read moreCookies is an old favorite for families with children. I just entered the Brooklyn Store by chance since I was at the Barclays Center. Brooklyn Cookies has a huge selection. I was happy to purchase a few things for my little girl. The smallest size was 7 but she’s 4! Well, I took my chance since I know my little girl wears clothes slightly bigger because of her height. Anyhow, the size 7 is more like a 5. I shopped and even purchased a toy for the road. As I was walking out the door there was a security guard real rough and tough that stopped me and my toddler like common criminals. My bagged beeped even though everything was purchased. He started to yell out “what’s in your girl’s hand” I pulled away a little 99 cent brush that has a hair pull attached. I apologized and told him this is a toddler how more rough can you be. I think Cookies has to have a retraining of these make shift security guards. 8hr 16hr course give me a break. There’s class and than there’s the other. If I thought for a moment to ever return that bubble was popped. This is why Target and Old Navy will always reign superior. That was the belly...
Read moreIf I can give this store a NEGATIVE CERO! I would. Customer service is HORRIBLE! I went to buy school uniforms and I had an awful experience. Sad part is was the owner itself... I opened a package of 1 shirt, for my son to try on because they didn't have a display on the clothing material that I needed ... We put the item back because it didn't fit well, Can you believe the owner of this location came and put that shirt that I DIDN'T longer NEED in my bag and SECRETLY charged for it at the register, because it was opened !!! He never came up to us to explain absolutely anything, he just went and did what he did. I was so confused on why he would do such a thing so disrespectful.... I immediately apologized for opening it, but I didn't want the item and he got extremely disrespectful and had the audacity to curse at us (CUSTOMERS) in front of everyone. He is white complexion, with blue or green eyes about 5'4...I'm describing him so y'all be aware, these people are money hungry... so glad I'm NOT...
