So, I really, REALLY want to like this gym. BUT - I’m extremely close to cancelling my membership, and I’m only 3 weeks into it. I workout pretty often and have been a member at a few gyms. And I have to say, this is the first time I’ve had such an annoying experience with the staff. The amount of personal training bookings that are being pushed on the floor at this location is absolutely ridiculous. They’ll watch you constantly, interrupt your workout to give you “pointers,” and then pressure you to book a session while they’re taking down your phone number. I workout 4 times a week here and every single time I’ve come, I’m being pushed to sign up for a session. It’s really obnoxious and I’m not sure why this particular location is so adamant about the sales part of it. Like seriously, the location has a lot to appreciate: 1. Very clean 2. Always-working equipment 3. Large locker rooms 4. Cool amenities like the sauna and flat iron stations. So what’s with the incessant pushing of personal trainings, ON TOP of the daily (and multiple) email comms?! Unnecessary.
And while SOME of the unsolicited tips and workouts are useful, I’m here to get into my zone and destress after a long day at work, not have to put on my mean face and dodge pushy sales folks disguised as trainers. It feels condescending and intrusive. I don’t know why it’s like this at this location, the other locations I’ve been to haven’t done any of this, but unfortunately this is my main location since I’m looking for something close to my job so keeping a membership wouldn’t be worth it if I stop going to this location. For the record, I don’t blame the trainers but I totally blame management, so if youre the manager/corporate lead reading this - can yall chill out fr on this?! You’re turning off a lot of customers this way.
Other than that, I do like the gym overall, it’s just the personal training policy that’s frustrating. I’ll give it another month, but for now I hope they take notes on this review and just STOP with...
Read moreCame in thinking I will sign up, I asked about the trial and was asked if I knew about pricing and if the promo I saw was franchise or not. Immediately felt like I was being arranged in a can you afford this or not file.
The gentleman bald head skinny short was hyping up the place amazing list goes on. I’m no newcomer to gyms. I’ve had memberships from lifetime fitness to private gyms. I know what to expect and levels to expect especially if I’m told it’s better then a LA Fitness but less then an equinox. That set the tone for me when I went upstairs.
Locker rooms are about what you expect in a regular gym nothing out of ordinary. Bathrooms were dated and broken soap dispensers. Has a sauna, that’s cool.
Went upstairs to workout all the right equipment you could ask for. Place was pretty well maintained had all sorts of racks you could ever use. Dumbbells go up to 140 lbs. biggest seller for me was a the punching bags. That alone sold me to sign up and location being a block from my job. I currently use planet fitness and LA fitness. PF in NY and LA fitness down the street from me in NJ. That being said, my LA fitness has a daycare two pools and saunas and all the regular equipment a decent gym should have. That being said though I was still in the kind to sign up.
I went down and was asked how was it, I gave my honest opinion and the skinny short bald gentleman took that to an offense. Shut down on me and started to tell me to have a good day. I was slightly upset because mentally I signed on. But after that interaction I decided to just go. I’ll take my business to the lifetime fitness at...
Read moreI’ve been meaning to write this review but I always get caught up. But I feel I MUST write this because I know there are so many who have gone through the same as me. I have spent sooo much money on trainers and weight loss systems over the years. Some were BS others were temporarily ok but nothing where I actually felt the fat shedding and the muscle growing at the same time. I have about a year and half going consistently to this crunch; 6 months of those I’ve been training with one of their gym trainers, Jordan. The changes my body has made with Jordan in 6 months is triple the amount I did for a whole year. (I promise I’m not exaggerating) Why? Well I’ll start with the fact that I didn’t have the right form with many exercises for my body. My lower back was always hurting, my neck stiff and my right knee had this weird on and off pain so I had to start wearing knee pads (Which by the way I don’t wear anymore) Not everyone’s structure is built the same so what works for one person doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you. I wish I could explain it better but honestly I’m soooo happy with how I look. To say Jordan has changed my life is an understatement. I’m so proud of my new found strength and I’m doing exercises I never thought I could although Jordan always said otherwise. His training isn’t cheap but this has been my best investment in a while. Thanks J for pushing me to discover my inner strength and helping me become the best version of myself. I’m not done yet, I’m just...
