TRAINING SESSION IS A SCAM, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!
When you become a member they offer you a free session with a personal trainer that will convince you to sign up for personal training. I thought it was a good idea and I signed up. They just let me sign on the screen without giving me a copy of the contract and I just been told that after two months I could cancel the training anytime. I decided to cancel after three months because it was becoming too expensive ($278 every 4 sessions), so I tell my trainer and then I go to the front desk to cancel it. You are supposed to cancel at least ten days in advance, and I did it three weeks before just to don't have any problem. At the front desk, I ask if I need to sign any form that proves the cancellation, and the girl says there's no need. I see her doing something on the computer and then she tells me my training membership is cancel, so everything is good. I specifically ask confirmation that I was not going to be charged the following month, and she tells me to don't worry, the training was canceled and I was NOT going to be charged. I trust her and I leave. The following month the gym takes $278 from my account. I called explaining I canceled the training, and the girl at the phone tells me to go to the gym and that they would have processed the refund for me. I go to the gym and talk to Tiara, the personal training manager, who basically tells me nobody canceled my personal training, even though the girl who did it assure me it was canceled and I was not going to be charged! I ask for a refund and the manager tells me she will request the refund and I would receive a confirmation email by the end of the day. I never received that email. From the day after, I kept calling the gym several times and talked to a lot of people that tell me they processed the refund and I was going to receive it in a week. After a week I call again and they say to wait another week. After a week they tell me to wait another week. I asked to talk to Tiara but I was always told she was busy. I ask for an email but I was told she doesn't have an email. Finally, almost two months after I talked to a guy who tells me to write an email to the manager (so she does have an email?!). I wrote her several emails after receiving an answer where she says they will not give me the refund back because there is no proof. I told her I asked if I needed to sign anything and the girl who canceled says there was no need and she assures me the training was canceled, so I trusted her and I don't want to pay $278 for their mistake. She stopped answering me.
Be careful! This is a scam. The same thing happened to a friend of mine just now. Similar story, and now she's just being charged. I'm sure they did it on purpose, they know what they're doing. They tell you it's canceled, that you're not going to be charged, but it's not. They charge you and then they tell you there is no proof and they can't refund you. It's a fraud. Now, my friend and I will try to report this scam to the Federal Trade Commission. I just hate...
Read morePretty bad but for the cheap price I wasn’t expecting much. This place is pretty consistently dirty - the cleaning crew consists of only two women who seem to be responsible for cleaning the entire gym separately on different shifts. Meaning the cleaning “crew” is one woman.
I can’t stress how gross this place is though - like a staph infection waiting to happen. Don’t even think about sitting on or touching anything without wiping it down.
Not kidding about this either but I was in the locker room(men’s) and they had to kick a homeless guy out for sleeping in one of the stalls.
Speaking of bathrooms there definitely aren’t enough and no matter what time I’m there I’ve had to wait to so long that I just said forget it and continued training
This Crunch also forces these poor women - their skeleton cleaning crew - to clean the men’s locker room which has to be uncomfortable at the least. I’ve already had a few close calls when I was about step out of the shower and realized one of the ladies were mopping just a few feet away.
The equipment is ancient like the rest of the gym. I don’t think this place has had any sort of renovation ever.
The people that workout here are… a real mixed bag let’s say. A lot of bro types who are big but unathletic checking themselves out in the mirrors- ladies who stare to see whose staring - a lot of elderly people(which is actually kinda nice to see) and everything in between. Not my kinda group tbh. But it’s all the weird staring. Just everytime you look up someone is staring at you. All in all I wasn’t expecting much with such a low price and only signed up here for a month while I looked for a better gym… there are FAR BETTER options in the area than this dungeon and definitely worth the more...
Read moreThe WORST!!! The female manager, Kalana, is a LIAR!!! I joined on 4/22 and was told by her that if I completed 12 sessions (plus the 60 minute intro session with the trainer…which I paid for, completed & didn’t get 60 minutes…long story) before 5/22 I’d get the next month (5/22-6/22 free). She also stated that if I canceled 30 days before 6/22 I wouldn’t incur the $60 maintenance fee.
I completed the 12 sessions on 5/21 and was told I’d get the next month free. Well today, 5/22, I visited the facility after I was charged for 5/22-6/22 (although they told me I wouldn’t be charged) to cancel my membership. She refused to refund the $33.34 and stated that I’d be charged the $60 maintenance fee although I canceled 30 days before. She claims that contractually they can charge the initial $60 maintenance fee and that the free month wouldn’t apply until 6/22-7/22. I told her that’s not what she stated when I signed up. The bald male manager (didn’t catch his name) said they’d “waive” the $60 but rudely told me to take up the $33.34 with my bank.
I hate that I didn’t take heed to the reviews. They’re not only dishonest crooks, but the gym is seriously lacking. The machines appear to be on their last leg, the environment is dark & bleak, at times they don’t even have cleaning products to wipe down the machines after use, and a few of the staff (trainers & definitely management) are not in good shape. Don’t waste your time or money visiting this location. Sucks that Moses and Victoria work there because they’re good trainers/facilitators. I liked the massage bed too and will miss it. Other than that, Crunch...
