De Beers Madison Avenue — Local services in New York

I made the trip to NYC in 2011 to search for an engagement ring and after looking at many top of the line jewelers, I chose the DB Classic Pave style rings at this store. The rings are beautiful looking, and the prices are fair enough. However choosing this ring was the single biggest mistake and my only regret of our whole wedding process. BE WARNED THAT THE QUALITY OF THESE RINGS ARE SUB-RATE. They are so cheaply made that any little bump will totally distort the band and cause diamonds to fall out. You will not even notice it because just everyday actions will cause damage (clapping, opening/closing doors, grabbing a hand bag, etc.) My wife is a school teacher, takes the ring off daily for cleaning/outdoor activities and takes great care knowing the delicacy and still there continues to be problems. We've had to send the ring back 6 times (while paying for shipping) and personally visited the store from Ohio three times in two years for missing diamonds, catastrophic deformations, etc. We'd just like to return the rings for a full refund so this nightmare will end. Not only will they not do that, now they are accusing us of misuse of the ring and are refusing to fix the defects free of charge. So we'll have to pay to fix the rings so they can sit in her jewelry box for the rest of our lives. She's too scared to wear them because every time she looks down they could be damaged again. It breaks my heart to know my wife hates her wedding ring. If anyone is looking at purchasing any jewelry from DeBeers, DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID! I cant thank the gentleman enough who served my Fiancee' and I. We had flown into NYC from Sydney, AUS. I had proposed to my Fiancee before we departed AUS and did it with a dummy ring. My plan was to buy a ring in NYC. After a negative experience at Tiffany's, the De Beers experience was what we exactly needed. The gentlemen who served us, helped my fiancee pick her perfect ring. Was in no rush and made us feel like the only people in the store.

To make things more of a challenge, we needed the ring resized and were flying out the next day to another state. Our guy managed to get the ring re-sized and sent to our hotel where we were staying in Vegas before we moved onto the next part of our trip.

We had such a good experience we are buying the wedding rings from De Beers as we. The only negative part is, that we don't have a De Beers...

Had a great experience with Dana. We bought our engagement ring as well as our wedding bands there. Really love the design of debeers rings. And the service in the store is also much better that the service in some other jewelers of the same tier.
