BUYERS BE AWARE! This review is not directed towards the NY store but it is directed towards the brand and THEIR AWFUL ONLINE STORE. DO NOT PURCHASE SHOES FROM THEIR ONLINE STORE! I purchased a pair of shoes from GionvitoRossi.com and after I wore them out once the heel broke off (at no fault of mine, the company agreed this must have not been glued properly.) I contacted the company right away and did not hear anything back for 2 weeks. I asked if I could get the shoes fixed on my own and if they would offer a discount, they said no. I asked for an exchange, they said no. I asked to take it to a place they trust and they said no. And of course they said no to a refund. Their idea of helping me was almost 2 months of back and forth e-mails (where weeks would go by with out any answers from their Italy team) for me to send the shoes back to Italy for a repair where it would take 6-8 weeks for the shoes to come back to me. I purchased the sandals back in July to wear in NY for the summer. I now wont see the sandals back until late October- November maybe. This company policy is not aligned to American customer service standards. I paid over $500 for a sandal I have not been able to wear. Their response time would take weeks and they are not willing to do anything for the customer, only what would be beneficial to them even when their product was defective and poorly made. If I had paid $20 at a sandal at Target and this happened they would have refunded me my money. For an expensive sandal like this I have been forced to wait over 4 months for a resolution. Read moreNEVER AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE: These shoes are very poorly made and the customer service is the WORST I have ever dealt with. I wore a pair of their shoes TWICE and after a night out, I noticed that the finish on ONE shoe only basically looked like it melted. I assumed it was a defect in the shoe because when I put them on before I left they were fine but after dinner, only one shoe looked as if it melted or something and it was very sticky to the touch. For background, I literally put them on, went to dinner for an hour and a half, and looked down in the car and saw that the shoe was peeling. It was a humid day, which is the only element that I could think of, which may have caused this. There was otherwise no direct heat around me or the shoe, there was no water, the table was high so the shoe was not scratching against anything. One shoe simply just started to peel.
I reached out to customer care and explained what happened. They accused me of putting this ONE shoe in the box wet or spraying something onto the shoe. Again, none of that was true. I tried to convey that and they doubled down. They did not even try to accommodate me at all or even ask me to send the shoes in so that they could take a look. This is the second pair of shoes that I purchased from them but its clear that the quality is very very poor and they do not care about their customers enough to diligently look into what is clearly a quality control issue. Read moreNever buy from this Italian designer especially at their retail stores. They have the worst customer service and refuse to allow you to get a refund or exchange unless you buy online. Never buy in store as their people are not helpful or caring. If you have to buy their products I suggest Saks or Other large retailers that have generally accepted retail return and exchange options. These people claim they stamped my receipt with a final sale red stamp. This was not the case and they refuse to do anything for a gift I bought my wife.
