BROWN-SKINNED GIRLS LISTEN UP!

Came to this beauty spa from a brown girl on tiktok telling her audience how exceptional her facial was and I decided (as an esthetician) to put her words to the test!

There is a difference between kindness and niceness- the kindness that I felt here is incomparable to any I have ever felt from anyone in the beauty industry. I cannot begin to sum up my experience with my ABSOLUTELY LOVELY esthetician Nati and Derma Star’s beautiful and kind manager who fed me cookies and green tea while chatting away about Russian poetry! What a lovely woman!

Nati, in my opinion, is truly a multifaceted individual who is deeply and immensely passionate about all things beauty and tremendously knowledgeable when it comes to the skin, skincare ingredients and European beauty treatments.

Nati gently explains every step and how it may benefit your skin. It was impossible to not feel safe in her hands. The manager and I had a lovely conversation about Russia poetry and how well russian poetry helps one to innerstand poetry, which really sealed the deal for them being my GO TO spa for every beauty treatment I will ever need. I love the intelligent and intellectual girlies 🤩

To see women be so kind, so warm and engaging with other women. Who see to it that you are as comfortable as possible in their presence and their space. They are girls girl!

Writing this review because I believe everyone deserves an experience like this, to be amongst women who make you feel safe and pretty at the same damn time!

Arrived at my appointment which I booked using google and they said they didn’t see it in the system but would accommodate me. I had booked a hydrafacial but the lady insisted microdermabrasion would be better for me (which isn’t true based on what I’ve now read about it). I suspect they didn’t have the machine I wanted but anyway I explained that if it won’t cause any redness I’m ok with it. I had an event that night. Halfway through she shows me a super red scar on the side of my face and asks me what I had done that day to cause it. This gaslighting really threw me off as I know for a fact (thanks to a picture) that I had no marks on my face. What was worse is that when I was paying at the end and another lady asked how it went I said it went well but I’m left with a scar. The woman who gave me the treatment now tried to blame it on me using my phone during the treatment. I was told management would call me to check on me but they never did. I went to my event with a huge scar but I can tell you the results of the procedure were good and 3 days later the scar went away. I cannot possibly recommend this place. My experience here was AHHH-MAZING! I came in for a VI Peel last thursday and as soon as I walked in, I immediately felt welcomed. The staff is truly the definition of customer service! They treated me as if I had been a client with them for years. They were so kind, sweet and so funny! I truly felt so comfortable and defintley felt the vibe of Women empowerment. They made me feel so confident! Especially being a woman of color. I saw a review from Tik Tok from a fellow brown girl and that is what drew me to their establishment. They are highly knowledagble and educated and I left knowing that I was in good hands. I can't wait to come back in 2 weeks for my follow up facial.
