Visited this spot this evening. Needed a place to get my nails done after work and my regular nail tech wasn't available. The location was pretty convenient for me. Walking distance from my job and 2 blocks from Penn. The 2 flights up the stairs weren't ideal for but manageable. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who has mobility issues. There's no elevator.
The workers + nails techs were polite and friendly enough. The space itself was pretty clean. Calm atmosphere. Now on to the service. And before I go into detail, I want to preface this by saying I've gotten dip powder for the last 8 years and have been seeing the same nail tech—even when she's changed locations—for the same amount of time. It just so happens that she's taking brief time off and I really needed my nails done as it had been 4 weeks. Aside from one line hair crack, and clear nail growth, my last dip lasted me over 4 weeks. I visited Elite for 3 services: Dip removal Pedicure (regular) Dip Powder Manicure
Dip Removal: 4/5 - Slightly rough with the tech using the tool to remove some of the dip but the soak off process was good.
Pedicure: 2.5/5 - Felt kinda rushed. I know every salon has their own technique so no judgement there but it felt rushed. I got simple white polish on my nails and I don't know if it was the quality of the polish but it was like sheer coverage. Layers felt a bit appears thin or translucent wherein I saw layers underneath. It also wasn't until I got home that I realized that my nails weren't even really cut straight. And some bubbles in the polish on my big toe. And no points off for this but I'm kinda used to having a quick 2 min foot massage/rub as the lotion is being put on.
Dip Powder: 3/5 - It didn't feel completely rushed but someone was waiting as the tech working with me told her she's better at powder than the other tech who was available. The powder used was called 'Wave Dip' which was new to me. I've only ever used SNS and OPI powder before. Again, the tech was friendly, but their dip powder service isn't for me. As I mentioned, my nails were pretty long. I wanted to get them coffin cut style. I didn't really like how the tech filed them even after cutting them down a bit so I just cut them off completely. She kept saying long nails aren't so good with dip powder, but I've honestly never had a problem with dip longevity when my nails were done. I understand this may note be the case for all. The end product resulted in having a pretty thing coat of powder which from my own past experience means they won't last long for me. And they lack the high shine look I'm accustomed to. Additionally, and this might be the oddest thing and again likely their process, I had to sit under the dryer for 15 minutes. Every time I've gotten dip powder, even before I found the tech I've been with for years, I've never had to go under the dryer. After the sealer has been applied, my nails were instantly dry. Also didn't realize this until I got home but the nails on my left hand are longer than the nails on my right. Tech never checked to make sure length matched
Meh, I can't call if I'd go back right now. But I doubtful I'll be back for...
Read moreHATE this place. The WORST nail salon. Staff is extremely bad. There was one lady out of 2 who was the worst person I have met. I would have fired her if I was the boss and the weird part is she wasn’t even handling me. The other lady who did my nails dint even know how to do a regular French manicure. She did it super bad and started blaming me, I don’t know why? Plus the nail paint they use are very cheap and the paint came out by night in couple of hours. They start changing their prices and keep adding the cost for something or other the whole time. I planned to go there for both manicure and pedicure but I was so done with the bad service and rude staff that I just wanted to leave with half done nails. After all this, I still tipped her after paying for my nails just coz I don’t like free services and she said multiple times that she spent 30 min on my nails. Weird right!! Hate this place so much and will never ever go back. I don’t recommend this salon to anyone and I wish I could have an option to give them negative stars. They don’t even deserve a single star. A tip for you guys, stop blaming...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with the service my Mum and I received. The one star I have to give represents the water we were given during our visit. The lady rushed through the pedicure service and did next to nothing for the callus treatment we paid extra for. I was hoping this would’ve been a great experience, so that it could be a regular spot for us, because it’s in a great location for me—that was not the case. I will never go back and would warn you if you would like to save yourself from paying for a service that when you leave the salon looks like you’ve had it for 2wks already, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, or use the money and buy the things you need and do it yourself. I guarantee you’ll do a way better job, than the “professionals” at this “Spa.” I ended up giving myself a callus treatment the very next day.
Adding that we got the service Thursday 6/19/25 this post is Wednesday 6/25/25, not even...
