I usually don't write reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience at this particular rehearsal studio because I can't believe how good it was!
I'm an "old school" rock musician that's rehearsed in at least 20 different spaces in NYC, and in 6 states (NY, NJ, PA, CA, OR, WA), and I think I've finally reached "Rehearsal Nirvana"...a place called Euphoria Rehearsal Studios, located in Manhattan.
What makes me dub it "Rehearsal Nirvana"?
Simple...
Great Gear. A good choice of boutique amps, but what really sets them apart to me is the Drums and the PA! Not just top-of-the line Drums, but they are actually tuned! Hello! And they include quality hardware AND cymbals!? Unheard of in most places. They also provide Monitors for EACH musician, AND assist with getting EVERYONE a decent mix, as if you are a headlining band getting a soundcheck!
High quality audio recordings INCLUDED! Just bring a flash drive or blank CD, or purchase one of theirs. As the saying goes, "the tape don't lie", meaning you will hear EVERYTHING clear (for better or worse, lol). You can easily assess your band's strengths (and weaknesses) by the complimentary audio recording, hence, getting it "right" BEFORE the gig and/or recording studio session.
Dedicated Staff that actually care. This is often WAY overlooked, but when you have staff that actually set the room to your request/specs, AND give sincere effort to get you the best rehearsal experience, it really sets a tone of professionalism that allows you to focus on your music, more than anywhere else.
I recommend EVERY musician/band in NYC area try Euphoria Rehearsal Studios at least once, and compare that experience to whatever you're used to...that one experience will tell you A LOT.
Thanks again Euphoria, and see you...
Read moreI've been rehearsing exclusively at Euphoria since the very first time I walked in there over 20 years ago. I'm a full-timer, as is everyone I work with, and I don't have the time or patience for studios with failing equipment and/or "less than stellar" sound. Euphoria is a full service establishment and has a complete selection of rooms, from showcase to general rehearsal of all sizes. All rooms are outfitted with top of the line sound systems, drum kits, and a huge choice of gorgeous amps, some of which are insanely vintage. (All working by the way, as Euphoria boasts an in-house repairman who fixes equipment right away.) Service is great from the owner (David) on down. David treats every client to the musical equivalent of white-glove service, and hires adept engineers who are able do the same, while also making sure your equipment and sound needs are met or exceeded. Euphoria also offers other services (all of which mentioned I have used to great satisfaction) like recording, video, photography, live-streaming, in-studio instrument rental and I'm sure, some I'm failing to mention. I highly and confidently recommend Euphoria Studios to anyone and everyone seeking any of the services they offer. I've never been disappointed, only thrilled. Euphoria is a good choice of names, as I often feel uplifted after rehearsing there, like I've been to a musical spa. And I'm certainly not alone. It's a pretty common sentiment among all musical circles in NY that Euphoria Studios is cream of the crop...
Read moreI've literally been saying this for years - Euphoria is HANDS DOWN the best rehearsal studios in NYC. First off , the rooms are always immaculate...in all of the years that I've been rehearsing there , I've never seen one drop of trash /any stains on the floor / nor smells in the rooms at all. Top, top, top notch equipment ( amps , PA's , etc ) that are always in great working condition. And the fact that there are only four studios , assures one hands on attention to detail for your session...the kind of luxury that you don't get with rehearsal studios - particularly those with 15 - 20 plus rooms! The staff are not only salt of the earth nice , but super knowledgeable - as there was never a situation that I've seen them not be able to suss out - and I've seen some doozy of request :) All of that culture comes from the top down - by way of owner David Sokol - who'll you'll see there , still setting up bands himself and asking what you need etc etc...things he doesn't need to do - but does because he loves the business , the people , and what he does. On a side note : the 100's of photos of jazz ( or otherwise ) musicians on the walls in the space , were all taken by David. One of the perks of rehearsing there is hearing the many hilarious stories...
