Eva's Nails & Spa — Local services in New York

I came to this place from 20th and 5th so it was a bit of a hike to get there but after going to two places and not being satisfied, I decided to try it out. My person was May with the green tips and she was super thorough and amazing. I've never felt my nails so smooth and they look so great. They aren't a thick layer either which I find hard to accomplish especially if the nails are short. I'm very happy with the experience and was in and out in under an hour.

On that note, my friend on the other hand also had same appointment time as me and by the time I was finished (I didn't have to soak off) she hadn't even started. She had to soak off which I understand takes time but the woman she had kept coming in and out, after she removed the foil and buffed out the left over, she left then came back, buffed again and then left. Asked for what color and then literally never came back. Once I was finished, my person May had to grab the colors for her and then unfortunately they didn't have the shade she wanted so by the time I left, she was waiting for her color still and hadn't started yet had been waiting for an hour with an appointment time set.

For my own experience, I'd give it 5 stars but for my friend who we were supposed to be getting our nails done together and, have to give it 4 stars.

I guess I will have to come back and see if I still have the same experience. They seemed very busy and had at least three people soaking and waiting. I'll do an update review when I come in for...

Terrible service and pricing. I received a dip manicure. I asked for a gel top coat, as literally every single other salon does. They wanted to charge $10.50 for the top coat alone, because “it requires a light.” Outrageous! A gel manicure is $30, so they wanted a third of the price for one coat of a top coat to finish a manicure. That’s honestly insane. I’ve never heard of that, and I get my nails done twice a month. I’m visiting the area, so I needed a new place. Never again! The manicure itself was thick and not the shape I like, despite my instruction. Additionally, it is not smooth. There are lots of dips in the nail. At a certain point, I basically gave up, resolved to just get it done in another couple weeks. The top coat really floored me though. I would not recommend this place.

So I'm technically giving 4 stars because I had to wait 35 minutes because Eva didn't know I had already come in. I guess that was a miscommunication error where someone didn't tell her they seated me? I don't get what happened there. Once I got started, everything was pretty smooth, minus a few interruptions because they were closing. But I'll just chalk that up to the previous error. For the most part, Eva did my nails and they came out great. She really tried to give me the gel powder look that best suited my nails. I did the french manicure by the way, and its actually cheaper than in the suburbs and 5x better haha. Try to get her if you can. I just like her...
