Fabi's Hair Studio — Local services in New York

The week was rough so I decided to indulge in some self care that I have not done in a very long time (thanks COVID). So I decided to go to a salon after YEARS now of dying and cutting my own hair (well sort of, just trimming damaged ends). My post-pandemic hair was depressing me. This was the first time I have come to Fabi's Hair Studio, and since I did not have an appointment, I just expected to do a consult and come back later. But Sati took me right away, which was lucky because it got very busy as I was leaving. Definitely going to make an appointment next time, I was so fortunate. Though I talked about color with her, Sati did not push me to get it right away- she said wait a couple of weeks since I had just done my color not long ago. I like how laid back they were there and that they do not pressure you to do things you don't ask for. Since I didn't know what to do with my cut, Sati suggested a few things and we agreed it would be nice to cut off a few inches and do some sort of face framing angle cut at the bottom. I liked this idea because it was not too traumatic a difference, but it was a nice change and a definite improvement. They also gave me a conditioning treatment, and now my hair is so shiny. The blow dry was a treat, because at home I'm a lazy drip dry girl and it never looks this nice. Maybe with the new cut I'll put more effort. I wish I found this place so much sooner! Azra gave me a beautiful hair cut. Listened to everything I wanted and was also open with her suggestions. I would find it so hard to find a place that cut my hair short and she was so respectful of my decision. Took her time, checked in with me about how I felt multiple times. If I wanted a section shorter she would be happy to incorporate it and make sure every other section was appropriately redone. Loved her patience, care and compassion for giving her client the best haircut experience and I am sooooo happy with the outcome. She truly transformed my look and I'm so grateful for her getting me to the haircut I've wanted for so long!! Can't wait for my next appointment and did I mention how reasonable the prices are? Finally a haircut I love! Ever since my stylist moved away I have bounced place to place looking for someone that could cut my naturally curly hair. If it isn’t cut properly, it just doesn’t curl. I have a lot of naturally silver hair mixed in with dark hair and I was wanting some non traditional colors like purple, pink and blue. Rosa did a wonderful job washing my hair, hearing my requests, being personable, and professional. Sati was also personable, professional, easy to work with and did an amazing job cutting my hair and blowing it out.
