I will be buying online from now on, went to the store. I was looked at as a suspect for stealing. I was undecided on a shoe because it was $85. I liked the sneaker but, its not a sale price! I guess i had a big puffy coat and I had too many layers on with medium sized bags. A purse, a medium sized tote bag and a medium sized old navy shopping bag. I guess i appeared like i wanted to stuff some sneakers in my tote bag. The LP dude was staring me down. I shouldve walked out but, i liked the sneaker too much.
At check out, the cashier was with another coworker maybe a manager who was there to watch me. She was nice but asked me for my phone number, she said,âshe wanted to see if i had any couponsâ. But took a long time to look up coupons and was quiet. The same guy next to her gave her a signal to go ahead and finish the transaction as the LP guy comes to the register to talk about another customer. I guess they were checking me out to see if I had stuffed anything in my bags. I wanted to just walk out! I was very uncomfortable! As someone who worked in retail myself I am aware of all the theft going on, but still uncomfy with being treated like a potential criminal. I guess my big puffy jacket âgave me awayâ as a criminal.
Amazon it is. I will stop buying from stores...
Read moreToday around 5:30 p.m., I was at Famous Footwear trying on some shoes. I had about six or seven pairs near me while deciding, and the staff didnât seem to like that. I organized the shoes according to their request and they said it was fine, but then asked me to put them back in the boxes â which I also did.
Despite that, they told me to leave because they didnât think I was going to make a purchase. I had actually picked a pair (see attached photo) and tried to buy them at the register, but they refused to sell them to me, saying I was being rude. Then they called the police to make me leave.
They also said something like, âMaybe thatâs how it works where youâre from, but here in the U.S., people donât try shoes this way".
The police were polite but told me that if I didnât leave voluntarily, they would have to remove me by force. So, they kicked me and my wife, who is nearly nine months pregnant â out of the store.
I'm fine â if thatâs what makes the staff feel better, so be it :-)
So just a heads-up: be careful at Famous Footwear at this location. Apparently, trying on âtoo manyâ shoes can get...
Read moreWhat a dissatisfying experience. I did bought a shoe, the shoe is good but the guy at the check out is outrageous. So there was a nike shoe which was listed with BOGO offer, and i asked a staff what that is and she said that if you buy this one you will get the blue tag shoes for 50% off and so choose a shoe Nike air max worth 89 and another which is Asics running shoe worth 69 dollar and took it to the check out and guess what, i canât get that shoe why? because he said that the asics is worth more expensive than the nike one. Which i think is a false advertisement. Iâve bought shoes from famous before but this experience is...
