Royal Beauty Nail — Local services in New York

I went to Royal Beauty Nail today to get coffin shaped black acrylic nails with gel polish. I was able to walk in without an appointment because it wasn't as busy. The male receptionist who I believe is Sam (according to my receipt) told me to wait for the nail technician to finish the other customer. I was fine with waiting, I wasn't in any rush. I got the impression that he was becoming impatient as the nail technician was still working on the customer and I had been waiting for a while. He told me that he would start working on cleaning my nails and then the nail technician would come and work on my nails soon after. That never happened! During the time he worked on my nails, he worked so roughly; it caused pain at times. He filed my nails swiftly which, caused cuticle damage afterwards. He didn't clean up the mess from filing my nails and glued a plastic nail tip right away. He didn't size the tips correctly to my nail size as you can see on the photos. When he mixed the polymer and monomer (acrylic liquid and powder) he was rushing and used too much. The coat is thick. When I was curing my nails, the gel polish was dripping down to my skin. He got so mad at me and started yelling at me, making it seem as if everything was my fault. He said I must have been moving my hands too much. Which, I wasn't at all! He said he would have to start over; he was so mad and impatient because the place was getting busy at that point. He never fixed my nails; he only tried cleaning the gel polish off my skin. And he didn't even do that right! He never put nail oil to finish the job. He said I was done and wanted me to pay. I paid for the service and originally gave him no tip for the awful service but he got aggressive and demanded a tip because he said it's mandatory. He had the audacity to ask for a 15% tip! I gave him $5 only and straight up told him the service was bad and he made too many mistakes. He stayed silent and I walked away. Overall, I do not recommend getting your nails done by the male receptionist (Sam), to be fair, I cant say the same for the other female technicians. He was rude, condescending, demanding and money hungry. He did a rushed and painful job on my nails. He had terrible communication skills and many nail related issues. His work speaks for itself! Many issues could have been prevented had he correctly prepped my nails. Sam, stick to what you're good at and answer the f*ing phone! Let the professionals...

The most disappointing nail salon experience. I chose this place because it had solid reviews.

Angela who did my mani-pedi was not only rude, but also did an awful dip powder manicure. She was not respectful and scolded at me. Is that how you treat your clients that speak your language?

She told me dip powders are in general thicker and the color was not uniform because the color I picked tends to come out clumpy and thick. The real reason was because she was incompetent and cutting corners. Angela did not polish my nails and added unnecessary coats that made them thicker.

I had made an appointment for two of my friends that day as well and when my friends looked at the finish product of my nails they were horrified. The base of my nails were heaping up like Mount Everest.

I am generally not the type of person to make a scene, but we were upset since these nails were for wedding purposes, and so we spoke with the manager. We spent over 4 hours at the salon, which is uncalled for. Please keep in mind, your clients time is just as valuable as your staff members.

The manager was overall professional about the whole situation and thank you Nicole for taking over and redoing my nails.

My friends and I personally would not be coming back here on a regular. There are plenty of nail salons that are efficient and staffed with competent...

My appointment were 5:00 , yes and I arrived 15 mins late ! Before I came they take two walk in , foot massage need maybe like a twenty mins, but the lady who do my nail , just wanted to wrap my nails up, so can remove it easily, and might take like a 5 mins or less! But the boss ain’t happy with it , he started yelling at the lady by saying, “ she the one was late , let her wait , is her problem “ when the moment I heard this I get really upset, cause this is not my first coming this place , and they always have me waiting even j were on time, sometime I got to wait like a 30mins, because they took walk in on my appointment time, I never complained a word, and I have no idea why this time I get yell on the face, ok he didn’t yell on my face, but literally he did by yell on her face, and at the time I were getting my nails done, I was so mad of all this, and I told her I’m not coming back anymore because I didn’t pay to get attitude!! So today I went again cause my nails need a bit fix, and the lady ask me why did I post the story on internet, duh cause I want people to know , how you get treated when you come to this nail shop!
