Strangely strict manager clearly doesn’t want business. So what do you do when it’s been a long day and your partner + family is shopping in the store. Well you go find yourself a nice seat and wait for them to finish. Clearly the manager of this store doesn’t understand that. I was told to remove myself from the seat with no explanation other than the manager doesn’t like it. Looking at their other reviews this seems to be a repeated pattern. Customer service clearly isn’t their forte. It seems all they want is to take your money and go away. Don’t come here if you want to take it easy. Unless you’ve got military discipline you’ll get kicked out for sitting. I must say it was the door lady that told us the manager doesn’t want us there so who knows what’s going on. I guess it’s to be expected from a factory store. I recently visited the Banana Republic Factory in downtown Brooklyn, and unfortunately, my experience was frustrating and disappointing. The staff seemed uninterested and unwilling to assist, creating an overall unpleasant atmosphere.
When I asked the cashier to process a return and issue a gift card so I could repurchase items in another size, my request was completely disregarded. Instead, she refunded the money to my debit card, which takes seven days to process. This not only inconveniences me but also forces me to either repurchase the items immediately—spending the money twice—or make my mother wait over a week to receive her gift again.
Customer service should be about supporting shoppers and making the process smooth, but this store failed to do so. The energy in the space felt dismissive and unwelcoming, and I will not be returning. On 3 separate occasions I've witnessed being watched and one gentleman behind the register told me I could not use the chip to checkout, instead he offered to swipe and enter pin. Then followed by a lady behind me using her chip. Another time a young lady asked for my email, which I stated was already in their system and she said they changed delivery process or something, I still politely declined and a gentleman whom I noticed intently watching me upon entering store remarked as I was walking out he's so rude.
