Gotham has 4 great quality courts for Pickleball play and is a hybrid customer experience meaning all bookings are done online and there are no registration tables at the front entrance. Instead the facility has an app you can download to book space or programs and then you can enter the facility at a designated time via the app. You can play here at a member or a non-member anytime and book private court rentals or enjoy different programs (open play, clinics, or tournaments). They do typically have at least one coach on site helping to facilitate any questions so to speak with about the company / programs / pickleball. Highly recommend this place. I’ve been coming here for 3 months now and the organized play has helped my game improve tremendously versus playing for free at the public courts. Playing at public courts is nice but the progress to improving is slower because you don’t always get to play people at our level or play in the most consistent conditions.
Additionally courts are courts are also fully run on PodPlay technology to help you keep track of your points, add games to DUPR and save...
Read moreI moved to LIC about seven months ago from California. Honestly, I was pretty skeptical about the NYC pickleball scene. I’ve been to the city on and off for the past few years and was never too impressed since I come from California where every outdoor court is pro level conditions. Most of the outdoor courts in NYC were cracked concrete, and the weather’s all over the place. A lot of the indoor spots were either way overpriced or just kind of disappointing.
My first day at Gotham I met Coach Van. She immediately introduced me to her network, and that pretty much changed things for me. I've really come to love and appreciate the community here.
I really like that it’s not one of those exclusive, members only clubs with DUPR gates everywhere. You can drop in for open play or join a drill session without jumping through hoops to play with whoever you want.
The courts are in amazing shape, there’s also thankfully air conditioning, and they host some fun events every couple months.
After playing at pretty much every indoor and outdoor court in NYC, Gotham has been the best...
Read moreState of the art Pickleball space. Basic but solid for NYC I love that you can record your shots by tapping a button to the side of the court… or if you want to pay you could have your entire match sent to you, but the little excerpts are free for fun shots to share with friends… It’s a pretty basic space there’s not a ton of lounge area, but Decent ceiling height -enough space around the courts, digital entry- discount rates for playing off peak, I don’t have a 9 to 5 so I can go in the afternoon and play with lots of enthusiastic Pickleballers, there’s a citibike station right at the entrance so it’s easy to get to from subways. A large, simple, clean bathroom, water fountain with bottle filler… And the app they have shows you all the different activities that are happening so you can book it ahead of time. It’s pretty efficient. No food or bar… But on the same block and maybe a block down there’s tons of little places, including the Gutter, which...
