UPDATE July 2025 - Everything is working great 1.5 years later. The quality of materials is holding up. There were two small issues with a door. I called Tony yesterday and today the workers came and fixed the issue. No questions asked. No warranty paperwork. Just trust and good relationships. You can't find this kind of company these days. 10 stars.

ORIGINAL POST: We did a gut renovation on an apartment and needed built-ins for the entire apartment. This was an extensive project. After getting several quotes and recommendations, I met with Tony at Gothic. Very friendly, experienced and professional. Helped with the entire planning (several iterations) and final execution. Whenever I needed changes, Tony went above and beyond to incorporate these changes. It took nearly 9 months from first meeting to the final installation. The final product is high quality, detail oriented, excellent workmanship and the team of installers were a gem to work with. There are many places you can get built-ins done, but Gothic is a place that gives you a high quality product for a reasonable price (most other quotes were exorbitantly high). You cannot beat the quality/value/price with Gothic. Throughout the entire process Tony guided everyone from the factory to installers. He is a true gentleman and an absolute pleasure to work with. We met Aris at Gothic (UWS) to discuss remodeling our second bedroom into an office with a Murphy bed. He made several trips to the apartment and presented several sets of ideas. He was very patient and listened to exactly what we said, and he then incorporated our suggestions into the plans. He seamlessly handled all of our Coop’s many rules and requirements including contractor liability insurance, elevator use, material delivery times etc., The finished product is a beautiful wall unit with bookshelves resting on 8 sets of pullout filing drawers divided on both sides of the Murphey bed. Then along a window wall he constructed a long open desk atop of the apartment’s radiators and air conditioner. Finally, he had that section wrap around onto the wall opposite the cabinets atop our wine cooler. His crew was very courteous and extremely neat and focused during the installation. Aris kept us informed of the progress of the actual building of the project, including a visit to the factory as it neared completion and then supervised the installation. He was always available to answer any question we might have. Like every custom-made job we wished it could have happened faster, but we are 100% satisfied with the fantastic new office. We are doubly thankful that we did this so that when we completely remodeled our master bathroom, we were able to use the new office as our temporary bedroom and slept very comfortably on the Murphy bed. On 3/2/23 we took delivery on a 12 drawer chest built by Gothic Cabinet Craft at 2652 Broadway. We are very happy with the chest and give Gothic the highest recommendation. We did look at other suppliers and felt Gothic stood out on a number of points. Foremost was the personal service. We took our rough idea to the Gothic showroom and met with Aris. He worked with our idea to come up with a design and highlighted important considerations such as drawer design, drawer slide quality, paint finish, delivery issues, etc. It was very helpful to look at the large array of Gothic’s floor samples to work out the details for our chest and also see the high quality of construction. The chest we received was of the same quality. Aris prepared final design drawings, which completely defined the chest, and became the basis of our order--with a 12-week delivery time. This level of personal service was essential for us to get what we wanted. Other possible suppliers where not set up for this kind of involvement, working more by e-mail.

The chest was ready for delivery 10-weeks after our order. Gothic’s installer, Pedro, arrived with his crew at the agreed time, set the chest up, made modifications as needed to clear interferences with electrical outlets, showed us how to remove the drawers if ever necessary, answered questions, and was gone in an hour.
