I am currently a tenant at Green Desk. For several months, I’ve experienced repeated incidents of my food and personal item (including a glass container) going missing from the shared pantry area. I’ve lost approximately $50 worth of property over the last few months. I raised these concerns with both the building manager and customer service.
Instead of responding directly to the issue, I received dismissive explanations and inconsistent references to rules that are not evenly enforced. The response ultimately came down to: “use the space at your own risk,” which I found unhelpful and inappropriate given the ongoing nature of the problem.
I suggested installing a security camera to help deter further incidents. However, beside the dismissive explanations and inconsistent references to rules that are not evenly enforced; both the building manager and customer service repeatedly redirected the conversation to unrelated point: It sounds like because I have a mini-fridge in my office, the ongoing issue is somehow justified or acceptable or can be disregarded. By that logic, if someone stole my printouts from the shared printer, would having a personal printer make the issue okay?
I’m simply asking for a fair and respectful response to a recurring issue that affects tenants’ personal property and sense of security. If the staff had just said, “We’ve decided not to install a camera because it’s not worth it for food containers,” I could accept that. What I find unacceptable is the consistent effort to avoid addressing the...
Read moreThis is just a review for the Hot Desk option. (I'm sure the rented offices and membership options are much better.) I recently went in for the Hot Desk option because there was an internet outage in my neighborhood and I desperately needed a place to work. Staff was really lovely, but the space not so much.
The Hot Desk area is very small and essentially the common area (kitchen/elevator/bathroom) for the people who rent the office. So you can imagine the noise level and awkwardness that I had to navigate during my Zoom meetings. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the cleaning staff is constantly coming and going, which is great for safety reasons, but just added to the disruptive noise.
Also something to keep in mind: all of the Hot Desk seats face the wall so if you're dealing with sensitive client info like I do, that's a big problem as well. And they are not flexible at all about the 9 to 5 hours even if you ask haha. (My hours are 9 to 6.)
I'll probably stick to WeWork...
Read moreI have had an office here at Greendesk Northern Blvd for four years now and don't have a single complaint. Denise, the building manager, is super helpful and always in a friendly mood and it comes at a reasonable cost.
It is really unfortunate that Greendesk is getting bad reviews for the Bangladeshi Consulate which shares the same address and for individual businesses that rent spaces in the building. If you removed all the bad reviews for the consulate and the businesses that rent spaces in the building, Greendesk would have close to a perfect 5 star score.
The only possible negative I can come up with is the location and food options, but even then, its a 1 min walk to the subway and a 5 minute walk to the heart of Steinway, so...
