Price gouging in Penn station is just the way it goes. Everything from snacks and water to books is marked up in these stores. My terrible review is based not on the fact that they take advantage of people in the closed market of the station. It's based on the fact that the product they sold me did not work. I'm giving them one star for selling $30. headphones that did not work. A BIG disappointment. I needed some headphones to do work on the train ride home and my 5 year old ones had just given up the ghost on the way to the train. I took a deep breath in the station and paid the ridiculous price thinking that I would be able to get some work done and then would have a working pair. No such luck. These headphones do not work. Selling bum goods to people on their way out of town is a huge scam. It's much better to give your money to a corner store. At last a small business owner might appreciate the business and is less likely to be focused on ripping customers off. Hudson Booksellers is a terrible rip-off chain store. I should've known better passing this along so...
Read moreI and my best friend went into this store located in Penn station to purchase a Travel-size hand lotion for his hands. As we approach the health and beauty section we realized that section had multiple hands and body creams to choose from. We grab 2. Nivea and Gold Bond. As we approached the register without any questions asked 4 full uniformed police officers ask for all items to be removed from his book bag and pockets. At this time we both were so confused and not sure what was going on. There was no reason for any of this to take place The only time we removed anything off the shelf was to take these 2 items to the register for a price check. I will never understand why the color of someone's skin makes others feel so uncomfortable. Being Black is a crime to some. Everyone should be treated with fairness and Respect NO MATTER WHAT SKIN COLOR A HuMAN HAS. Shop with caution if you are an African American or anyone with dark-colored skin. You are guilty of stealing as soon as you walk into...
Read moreI AM one of those people that goes from Point A to Point B, and rarely, if ever, detours. However, yesterday, Sunday, August 7, 2022, my life partner and I attended a small gathering of fellow Spiritualists, so he and I had time to browse some of the stores in Penn Station. Although this was not my first time encountering Hudson Booksellers, it was my first time having the opportunity to browse, if only for a few moments. I found a considerable number of books, mostly bestsellers and recently published books, both in hardcover and softcover. I also saw cold beverages and snacks, as well as tons of magazines, and even a few kids books, too. I look forward to browsing and buying the next time I have plenty of...
