Afternoon Exploring a Secret Designer Vintage Shop
Paul Mark MorrisPaul Mark Morris
If vintage were a speakeasy, James Veloria would be its secret handshake…hidden on the second floor of the most unlikely marker, yet bursting with treasures once you find your way up. Venture through a nondescript entrance, take the stairs, and suddenly you’re in a perfectly curated time capsule where every rack has a story. The selection? Archival classics that feel newly minted—each piece is as eclectic as the staff, who double as fashion muses in their mirror selfie campaigns (the kind that make you pause and think, “I need that silver Jean Paul Gaultier blazer, and maybe confidence, too”). Brands range from the big hitters to the one-of-a-kind framework—the kind of rare finds vintage hunters hype about in hushed tones, without the usual couture pretentiousness. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and chill—the kind that makes designer vintage feel like fashion’s coolest best-kept secret. The staff are genuinely stylish and more approachable than your friend who always “knows a guy” with the best thrift hookup. They’re enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and you never feel talked down to. Whether you’re a dedicated collector or just window-shopping (or scrolling their Instagram mirror-selfies to feed your weekend daydreams), James Veloria is a must-stop. A perfect blend of hidden gem and style manifesto—five stars all day.

Cute super trendy used clothes. Disappointed as to the typical overpriced markup and the hype behind this store? Come on. One of them must be a friend of a writer at Vogue. The Vogue article for someone who actually worked for Gaultier for 12 years in Paris, I found it full of nonsense. Some nice pieces overpriced by 140 dollars at least. But they're the darlings of Vogue. Lol. Most of the customers walk in and walk out. That says everything. The girl at Lara Koleji on orchard street warned me not to go here. But I went and it was a bit of a let down.

Very cool shop!!!! I saw a video of Hunter Schafer trying on clothes at this shop and found it so cool! I visited the shop when I was traveling in NYC. Although I didn’t find anything at this shop for myself, the whole floor at the mall is full of very stylish vintage shops and designer jewelry. So I found purchased a dreas at another shop, and I talked to the shop owner. She mentioned that James Veloria was the one who started reviving this mall and teamed up with all the other shop owners. I am so happy to see this vibe in Chinatown's old mall! (I’m from Hong Kong, used to live in NYC and I...

This store sources a lot of their items from sellers on eBay such as myself and marks them up to sell in their shop or via Instagram. I don’t have a problem with this but I do have a problem with them treating their eBay sellers badly. Unfortunately they don’t have the time to give positive feedback after their purchases. Taking five seconds to leave a review ( after a seller has gone out of their way to ship quickly and the items are in great condition) means a lot to sellers and since this store is a business they too know the value of feedback. The 2 stars is for...
