Weill Cornell in general is a very good medical facility, however, I had a terrible visit with doctor Jennifer Chen on my last 2 visits and do not wish to see her ever. I was told that my cholesterol was high and I told her I will bring it down on my own. Dr. Chen said, she is going to give me a statin drug and I told her to give me something else if she thinks I must take because the last time I took it I had severe major muscle pain. I informed her that I live alone and will find it difficult to raise myself up to a standing position. She assured me it won't be bad, so I filled the prescription and within days the thigh pain started then the weakness. Upon seeing her again she said, it is still the same. I said to her that is odd since she did not do a new test and she dies not have access to Rogacine's labs. She stated that she was looking at it. I informed her that I will not take another stating because I must be able to do my activities of daily living as well get up and sit down. She said that I have to. So I asked her what about the 'Patient's Bill of Rights' and told her that I am exercising my rights to refuse treatment. She said, " you don't have any". She was badgering me into taking the drug and said she will give me 3 weeks to do whatever natural remedy you plan on using an D come back for me to see the result. So, I said to her, your drug was given to me for 4 months and according to you my cholesterol is still the same, but my was should take only 3 weeks. Then she said, I should look up alternative on the internet and she is writing me another prescription for another drug. At that time I was on the internet on my prose and she said, look at me, look at me, you are disrespecting me ( if as though she was speaking to a child). I told her I am not deft neither was I dumb and I am certainly not a child, I heard everything you said. I said you told me to look on the internet and that was what I was doing, then I repeated word for word what she had said and told her that was how I process things whenever a person is lecturing for a long time if I don't distract my mind I will not hear you, I will zone out. Then I told her that she does not know me or how I function so don't pass any judgment because many mannerism America says mean one thing or another means something entirely different in another culture. I do not ever want to see her again. Dr. Jennifer Chen, Cardiologist i was disrespectful and condescending towards me. She acted like I could not read. So I I formed her at the end that I have a...
Read moreI chose Dr. Chen for Cardiovascular Preventative Concerns. Her credentials for this are top shelf. Thankfully, I have nothing wrong...yet! She was very nice, listened well and her staff on that floor were all excellent. The one caveat is that I am a low carb, high fat and protein patient and it is nearly impossible to find specialists who can work outside of this box of Big Pharma's dogmas! I suppose doctors risk their job in such a clinical setting to not go along with such painfully antiquated and even erroneous recommendations. For that I looked to NY Presbyterian to not be narrow sighted and instead lead the way in cutting edge research and guidelines. I have had only one visit with Dr. Chen and we are to follow up on a couple things... checking the mechanical functions of my heart. At 65 years old I have made it most of the way to the finish line and feel as healthy as I did 30+ years ago. It is truly the diet that even made this possible. I do believe that Dr. Chen will faithfully keep the watch over me that will keep me as tuned up as possible, for my outside of the box...
Read moreI recently had my first appointment with Dr. Chen at Weill Cornell Cardiology, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was met by nurse Islam with a warm and professional approach that immediately put me at ease. She took my vitals and gave me a nice orientation. Islam was thoughtful, warm and caring. Dr. Chen came quickly and took the time to listen attentively to my health history and concerns, I was able to thoroughly explain my condition, and we discussed a clear plan moving forward. Dr. Chen’s expertise and compassionate approach made me feel confident that I was in the best hands possible for my care. In addition to Islam and Dr. Chen, the front desk staff was equally kind and efficient, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. I highly recommend Dr. Chen and the Cardiology team at WCM to anyone seeking top-notch...
