I was a member of Equinox Brookfield Place from September 2023 to December 2024. During that time, I made great progress towards my fitness goals with a trainer who is no longer there, for which I am very grateful.Please note that I was a regular at the gym during this period, paying for 3-4 personal training sessions each and every week.
While I was pleased in some respects, I was overall extremely disappointed by my experience at Equinox Brookfield Place. One reason for this is my displeasure with the gym's general manager, who ultimately is the reason why I decided to cancel my membership. Not only did the general manager not bother to say hello to me even once during my entire time at the gym (and I saw this person on many occasions) they behaved in a condescending and aggressive manner towards me after an unfortunate incident that took in December 2024.
While I do not wish to go into the details of said incident here, I can say that it could have and should have been handled differently and more professionally. Been paying 200+/mo for a gym I havent been able to use once. Want a refund, cant get anyone to help me.
They've offered access to neighboring clubs, but that doesnt help me. I have access to 2 other gyms including 1 in my building. I signed up here because I work in WTC. Not going to go to a gym that is even further away from my home.
Edit: The response below once again acknowledges that they are aware of the fact their facility has no hot water. However, it doesn't address the fact they are still charging me and not issued a refund for the month + that I have not been able to use the gym. Hot water is a utility. It is required in a building. This is not a broken treadmill, or a missing dumbbell. It is an essential part of any business let alone a gym. It's unreasonable to bill me for membership while the facility is unusable.
