In 2011 a 7cm cancerous tumor was discovered in my left kidney. I’m located in Florida, but after consulting with two surgeons here in Florida and two surgeons in NY, I decided to use Dr Touijer who performed a partial nephrectomy at Sloan Kettering in NY.

Due to a number of circumstances, it wasn’t until the last minute of my stay in NY that I called Dr Touijer, who fortunately for me, managed to squeeze me into his schedule without an appointment even though he was supposed to be leaving his office for the day. I had a flight scheduled back to Florida the following morning.

It’s now ten years later and I’m finally done with scans and all is well, thanks to Dr Touijer. Fantastic surgeon, great bedside manner and just a real pleasure to deal with.

The only other point I would make is, if you’re a male and you bring your spouse or significant other to meet him, be prepared to see them melt. He happens to also be an extremely good looking guy and I almost had to pick my girlfriend up off the floor after she met him.

I met Dr Touijer as a result of a prostate cancer diagnosis. Dr. Touijer and his staff at Memorial Hospital are top notch. Dealing with prostate cancer can be extremely daunting. Dr. Touijer clearly laid out all my options and helped me choose the laparoscopic prostatectomy. He was very thorough, kind and competent and his staff complimented him in all the right ways. I was properly prepared, understood the pre and post op expectations and felt I was in the best possible care. This experience was no picnic - but 3 weeks after my surgery I am making amazing progress in all areas. This is all because of Dr Touijer and his staff's professionalism and skillful execution of my surgery. I can't thank him enough for everything he has done to prolong my life and preserve the highest quality of functionality in all areas of my life. I am willing to share my experience with others to help them through the dreaded cancer diagnosis....

I am writing this review as a wife since my husband is too nice to write this review. First I like to thank Dr Touijer for taking care of my husband’s cancer and getting him to be cancer free. Most grateful. However, he has been horrible since the surgery. My husband has had complications and Dr Touijer can’t give a damn. His answer always is”I don’t know”. There is never a follow up. Even when he does a blood test he never calls back with results. His office is also indifferent. My husband’s quality of live is drastically reduced and Dr Touijer has no curiosity as to what went wrong or what can be done. If you are considering him please walk out and go to someone who...
